The costs of the purchase, rehab, operation, maintenance, and replacement of lost tax dollars would be in addition to the $60M-$70M that the new Parks Master Plan recently approved by this council, right? Of course, the new Parks Master Plan intentionally excluded the old golf club, in part because of the added costs but also because other areas of the City need the Parks investment now.

The only reason they wanted the change of zoning was to collect the fire service fee from all those new homes so they could waste it !!

According to what CW Stout was stating last night, this city can NOT even afford a "Pickle Ball Court" in next years budget, let alone acquire the Old Golf Course!!! This city DOESN'T even have enough funds to maintain it. YES, we all want more green space and parks, but where is the money going to come from??? This City wastes so much, that they can NOT afford to purchase this property. After last nights vote, current council has "kicked the can down the road" for the next council. With no "big money business" interested in investing in Cape Coral, that will leave a huge TAX BURDEN on all homeowners. Get your check books out!!!

What about all the money being spent for the infamous CRA streetscape project that is now going to require more dollars? Enough is enough for that project.

Too much money is spent in the southeast part of Cape Coral already. The people in that part of town seem to honestly believe that the entire rest of the city exists to fund their frivolous desires. Enough is enough.

Nobody supports more spending by the clowns at city -hall. The only one 's that benefit are the city employees. The taxpayers want to keep their money
