Should Mayor Marni Sawicki resign?

  1. Yes.
  2. No, she’s done nothing wrong.
  3. If she doesn’t, the governor should remove her.
  4. She apologized, let’s more on.
  5. Council should censure her for her walk-out
  6. This is a non-issue; she’s leaving in November, just let her finish her term.
  7. Other.

repubslie - Sounds like your having a meltdown like our Mayor & her boyfriend. Get over it ... Trump won. What I will tell you is that I'm proud to say that I DIDN'T vote for Marni then and I wouldn't vote for her now. So, unlike you, I played no part in her embarrassing role as Mayor. I only hope that the new Mayor will restore dignity. Cape Coral is a great place to live. What we desperately require is a leader with morals, scruples & class. I'm still holding out hope that the Ethics Board rids us of Marni before November. Wouldn't that be sweet?

You probably voted for Drumpf who is unpredictable, unprofessional and has embarrassing behavior & you'd probably vote for him again -- no matter what he says or does.

Repubslie - What does Trump have to do with our Mayor's unpredictable, unprofessional and embarrassing behavior?

Among the numerous stories of our mayor, I was forwarded one that was copied from "she's a home wrecker" website & found it to be very informative. It lists name of the married men and even has a photo. The photo happens to be the same official photo she has on the city website. The story was written in Nov of 2016 and even mentions Ken Retzer. It is still available to view/read.

You can't read too much into these online polls. Anyone can create multiple accounts and vote with all of them. The way these numbers popped up on the first day and then stabilized, I'm guessing this is only about 20 votes, and some were probably requested by the parties affected and/or are multiple votes by the same people.

Unbelievable!! "44% think that she should be able to finish her term no matter how screwed up she is". - These same individuals wonder why NO big businesses/corporations are interested in moving into our area. YES, they research the area first. Just google search our mayor name and allow yourself a lot of time to read all the articles. Why would a major corporation even consider Cape Coral with all the crap going on within our city government. Our Mayor's usage of Social Media for attention has frightened both individuals as well as future business from relocating to the Cape. If she truly cared about The Cape, she would resign and allow us to move forward.

There is the real problem 44% think that she should be able to finish her term no matter how screwed up she is. That says it all. Unbelievable

Numbnutz - QUOTE "Marni is like finding your milk is one day past its expiration date" -- More like one week and we all can attest to what happens to milk when it's one week past it's expiration date. The result remain the same. You DUMP it! It's time to DUMP her!

Capercoral, not making excuses for Marni. Just pointing out the facts. Marni is like finding your milk is one day past its expiration date. While on the other hand when you found the milk has curds on top, well, that is the Sully/King syndrom

So your defense of our current mayor is simply that she was not as bad as her predecessor? She should be held accountable regardless of the past mayors issues. Geez...talk about backward thinking,,,,

Long time resident Wendy Blake said it best at Monday's council meeting when she said that our Mayor is using the pulpit as a "Sacrificial Alter". The members of The Charter School governing board did not deserve what was thrown at them at the Apr 24th COW meeting. There is no-doubt that our Mayor attended that meeting with a chip on her shoulder & an axe to grind. She experienced a melt-down when Erbrick called for order & refused to be silenced. Marni is NOT accustomed to not getting her own way & she unraveled. Her behavior was extremely unprofessional, immature, & inexcusable. She holds the highest office in our City Government and needs to take a refresher course on how to behave. Thanks to Social Media, she is being talked about (laughed at) across the US and as far as Germany & Canada. She must be real proud of herself. I'm NOT.

QUOTE "She didn't apologize for how she behaved. She apologized for "what happened". A big difference. Her behavior should have consequences and she should "own" her actions." - Our Mayor waited 1 complete week and that was the "Best she could come up with"??? REALLY. Given her track record where she runs to FaceBook daily to advise everyone of things like, The closing of our beaches & her sudden marriage to Ken Retzer, the man she had a restraining order against one month earlier, yet she didn't feel the need for an official apology on Social Media. I did NOT hear of any direct apology to Erbrick or Leon. Both of them deserved one yet NOTHING. Our Mayor cursed out 2 council members in council chambers and still no apology. Where is the accountability??

Her inexcusable actions, as well as her inability to properly chair council meetings without displaying favoritism, have become a major distraction & while the focus needs to be on moving this city forward, she has made it virtually impossible. The remaining council, as well as the citizens of the Cape, shouldn't have be seated on eggshells, worrying "What Next" & how long before another outburst episode from our Mayor. Bottom line, she has become a liability to this city and for the sake of our city moving forward, she really needs to step down. Until then, she must be kept under a microscope & called out each & every time she over-steps her boundaries. Also, she needs to be reminded that her "significant other" Ken Retzer, must abide by the same council rules as the rest of us.

She NEVER made an apology! She stuttered thru some inane comment that in no way resembled an apology.

Bobcat aka bob mason is off the wall with his comments, always making excuses for Miss Marni the the out of control embarrassment to Cape Coral! She needs to go and go quickly! She an take that boyfriend Retzer with her as he too showed he has an anger management problem also. They can anger each other!

vharring: I wouldn't call what she said Monday night an apology. I irked her to even say it was as can be seen. If that was an apology, where in it did she apologize to the two council members she targeted with curses and name calling. She was called out on a point of order and she should have accepted that rather than go on a rampage and leave a meeting that was in progress.

It is our responsibility to hold our elected officials accountable. That isn't hate. Blindly disregarding a continued series of displays of poor judgment and inability to effectively lead, while making efforts to justify every action that reasonable people see as counterproductive is anything but discernment. You have a nice Cinco de Mayo too, Bobmason.

ERoberts, I rarely see the "shoot the breeze" as it's biased, unscientific, and local hacks on it. Have A great Cinco De Mayo. Attention? It's called discernment and some are so filled with with hate, they can't speak from the Heart.

No,even some of the people here commenting don't realize the Mayor was provoked, she apologized, and we all can relate to human nature in such bullied circumstances. The real question is WHO'S MAKIMG ALL THE JUDGMENTS IN RESPONSE to one brief outburst. Judgment is where the hatred resides

Saying "Sorry, but I'm human" isn't an apology. It was an attempt to justify her actions. Everyone is human, but you don't see anyone else up there acting like a bad actor in a B rated sorority movie.
