Should beaches have lightning detection systems?

I agree. If folks don't have enough sense to take cover when there's thunder, I doubt that an expensive siren system would make any difference.

The money could be better spent. It's the old adage "You can't fix stupid." Common sense and awareness should tell you to stay off the beach around a storm. This was preventable but people will do what they want to do.
