Does This Make a Difference When Choosing Lottery Numbers?

Marilyn: To play the lottery in my state, one must select any six different numbers out of fifty-three. Some players limit their selections to birth dates, which means that they don't use a certain range of numbers. Does this practice reduce their chance of winning?
