To the editor:

Everyone makes mistakes. Even when voting for a president. Every politician running for the presidency will make promises that cannot be realistically achieved. And they know that. And we know that.

We also know, based on empirical evidence, that a president should be dignified because it is a political position that requires a certain level of dignity both nationally and internationally. When political issues do not develop in the favor of a president, a measure of his dignity is his response to the negative developments. Our president does not grasp this concept.

His legacy will be defined by the devastating havoc he has left in his tumultuous, polluted wake like a rogue oil tanker dumping its bilge.

Our legacy as an electorate will be defined by how we vote in the November election.

And if we made a mistake voting in 2016 we can always repent: Mea Culpa, Mea Culpa, Mea Maxima Culpa.
