Your business

at a glance:

What you do: The division I have the privilege of leading at LCEC is focused on the customer. LCEC?was established to meet the needs of residents and help communities grow stronger and more vital. Customer care is a large part of our core business and we work hard to make sure that we do the best that we can for our members.

Unique niche: I have gained diverse utility experience from coast to coast in Florida.

Bragging rights: I've been with LCEC?for 14 years. As a graduate of Leadership Cape Coral I gained experience that helped me work my way up the ladder to become part of the LCEC executive leadership team.

Where you see your business in five years: Technology is going to play a big role in how LCEC adapts to the changing utility landscape. We have learned how to become agile. To adjust to the COVID-19 situation, we quickly implemented a process for customer care agents to work remotely. We didn't miss a beat.

About you:

Describe yourself in one word: Trustworthy.

Hero, role model or mentor: My Grandmother. She helped raise multiple children that weren't hers despite having four kids of her own in her beloved country of Haiti. Her legacy lives through me. I am raising five children and family is everything to me.

Person you'd most like to meet: Charles Darwin for thinking outside the box to discover the theory of evolution. Through his travels he thought slavery was the worst atrocity of mankind. Darwin's strong anti-slavery sentiments and position helped him formulate all men are created equally.

Book that changed your life: "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People," by Stephen Covey. It has been a mainstay for me throughout my career.

Best business advice you've ever received: I have had several mentors tell me, "Run the business as if it were your own."?I have shared that same advice with those I mentor.

Biggest risk you've ever taken: Moving my family from the east coast of Florida to the west coast of Florida. I gave up a nice position at FPL to come serve the customers of LCEC and become a part of a community in Cape Coral.

Personal passion: To help serve underprivileged kids and let them know it's never too late to become the person of your dreams. As a Cape Coral youth league football coach, my focus was on teaching life lessons (and in the process we won the league championship!) I have also mentored high school students who have gone on to be very successful. I was honored to be selected as the Mentor of the Year by the Foundation of Lee County Schools but there is nothing more rewarding than watching a student go on to flourish after high school.

Guilty pleasure: A glass of lesser known bourbon.
