November 27, 2019
Cape Coral Daily Breeze

The Southwest Florida Concert Band will perform A Florida Family Christmas concert Sunday, Dec. 15, at 2 p.m., at Unitarian Universalist Church, 13411 Shire Lane, Fort Myers, FL 33912.

The 40-member community band will perform a concert of seasonal music and give the audience an opportunity to join in a sing-a-long of their favorite carols. The program will start the journey with the Christmas classics, "The Most Wonderful Time of Year" and Leroy Anderson's "Sleigh Ride." Sammy Nestico's swinging "Fireside Christmas" should get listeners in the holiday mood as well as "Hey Man, Christmas Swings."

The band will perform "Christmas on Broadway" and Irving Berlin's "Christmas" with all the familiar melodies you know and love.

One of the highlights will be music from the "Nutcracker" and "Christmas Music for Winds." The band will perform the popular "Feliz Navidad" and "Festive Sounds of Hanukah."

The concert band will also perform music for the young and young at heart with "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" and the narrated version of "'Twas the Night Before Christmas."

It is a not to be missed performance of the newest concert band in Southwest Florida.

All concerts are free with donations accepted. Information on the group, its scholarship program, and other performances can be found on its website at
