South Fort Myers 45, Island Coast 38: The Gators came up short in their season opener. Island Coast is at East Lee County on Friday.
Port Charlotte 54, Ida Baker 22: It was the second loss in as many nights for the Bulldogs (0-2), coming off a 53-28 defeat against East Lee County on Monday. Baker travels to Lely on Friday.
Boys soccer
Cape Coral 8, North Fort Myers 0: The Seahawks are off to a 3-0-1 start, 2-0 in District 5A-11, after a dominating win against the Red Knights. Juan Parra poured in four goals for Cape Coral, and made an assist as well. The Seahawks are home Thursday against Cypress Lake, while North Fort Myers (0-3, 0-1) is home Thursday against Lehigh.
Mariner 8, Island Coast 0: Leo Perez had a hat trick on Tuesday, giving the senior nine goals this season -- three goals in each of the Tritons' three games. Sean Paul Negron scored twice, while Esteban Orjuela, Eddie Reyes, Marcos Grimado each had a goal for the Tritons (3-0). Fort Myers plays at Mariner on Thursday, while Island Coast (0-3) faces Dunbar the same night.
South Fort Myers 3, Ida Baker 2: South (3-0, 2-0 District 5A-11) kept the Bulldogs (0-6, 0-2) winless. Ida Baker faces Estero on Friday.

Mariner 8, Island Coast 0: Freshman defender Sarah Paddock posted her first hat trick, Brooke Yount also scored three goals and added an assist, and Lela McIntyre had scored twice and had an assist for the Tritons. Asia Alexander added an assist. The Tritons are at home Wednesday against Fort Myers, while Island Coast (0-3) travels to Dunbar on Thursday.
