GATES Construction starts Lee Emergency Operations Center remodel

GATES Construction is starting a multi-phase construction remodel at the Lee County Emergency Operations Center. The project involves 6,000 square feet of interior renovations to accommodate a larger operating space for the Lee County Emergency Operations team. Response and recovery is a whole community effort and the Emergency Operations Center is the county's primary coordination center during disasters. When disaster strikes, the EOC houses over 100 dedicated staff from various agencies and is a key component of Lee County's preparedness efforts.

The project will transform the existing storage space into two new conference rooms, expand the overall capacity of the break room, add a security access vestibule in the entryway corridor, renovate the emergency information hotline room and add a 200-square-foot freezer. GATES also served as construction manager for the original 29,000-square-foot building construction which was completed in December 2012. The renovation was designed by BSSW Architects.

Celebrating 26 years, GATES provides construction management, general contracting and design-build services. Their diverse portfolio of commercial, healthcare, multi-family, club and hospitality, institutional and special projects showcases numerous landmarks successfully constructed over the past quarter of a century. As Florida's premier builder, GATES serves its clients from offices in Bonita Springs, Sarasota and Palm Beach Gardens, and operates throughout the southeast United States and Latin America.
