Goldberg Noone Law Firm announces new Cape Coral office

The personal injury law firm of Goldberg Noone, LLC, has announced the opening of its newest office in Cape Coral at 1625 S.E. 47th Terrace, unit 1, just off of Del Prado Boulevard, behind the Culver's restaurant.

The opening of this new office will enable Cape Coral residents to access top quality legal services in the areas of wrongful death, motorcycle accidents, trucking accidents, negligent security and much more.

"All three firm partners are Cape Coral residents, and we want our community to be able to reach us more easily, so it only made sense to open an office here," said Scot D. Goldberg, one of the firm's managing partners.

Established in 2000, the firm's partners include attorneys Goldberg, Michael Noone and Sheba Abraham.

Passenger count up again at Southwest Florida International Airport

During May, 725,754 passengers traveled through Southwest Florida Interna-tional Airport in Fort Myers, an increase of 8.5 percent compared to May 2018. Year-to-date, passenger traffic is up 9.6 percent compared to last year.

The traffic leader in May was Delta Air Lines with 187,907 passengers traveling to and from Fort Myers. Rounding out the top five airlines were Southwest (141,576), American (122,639), JetBlue (85,852) and United (83,586).

Southwest Florida International Airport had 6,018 aircraft operations, an increase of 3.7 percent compared to May 2018. Page Field saw 9,294 operations, a 29.8 percent increase from May 2018. In addition, slightly more than 3 million pounds of air freight moved through Southwest Florida International Airport in May 2019.

Southwest Florida International Airport served nearly 9.4 million passengers in 2018 and is one of the top 50 U.S. airports for passenger traffic. No ad valorem (property) taxes are used for airport operation or construction.

Lee County Port Authority names McGonagle division director of administration

The Lee County Port Authority has named Brian W. McGonagle division director of administration. The division oversees the areas of air service development, communications and marketing, finance, human resources, information technology and properties for Southwest Florida International Airport and Page Field, in Fort Myers.

McGonagle was most recently the director of finance for the Lee County Port Authority, where he was responsible for all financial and accounting functions including purchasing, the annual budget and Capital Improvement Program.

McGonagle joined LCPA in 1997 as a budget analyst, was promoted to manager of budget & accounting and then named director of finance in 2004. Prior to joining LCPA, McGonagle worked for more than 12 years in accounting and finance at the Bank of Boston. He started his career as a cost accountant for the United Airlines' flight kitchen in Boston, Mass.

McGonagle holds a bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Massachusetts-Boston.

DiRocco joins Veranda/Rib City Group as marketing manager

Michele DiRocco has joined the Veranda Restaurant and Rib City Group as marketing manager.

DiRocco holds a bachelor's degree in applied science, supervision and management from Edison State College and an MBA from Nova Southeastern University. She previously served as a recruiter and marketing manager in Southwest Florida's healthcare community for the last three and a half years.

In her new role, DiRocco will be responsible for implementing marketing and branding strategies for the Veranda as well as Rib City's corporate locations to promote top of mind brand awareness to help achieve the company's business goals.

Kraft Heinz employees help Meals of Hope during United Way Day of Caring

Employees of Kraft Heinz packed 4,300 meals at a United Way Day Caring for Meals of Hope. The volunteers assembled shelf-stable meals that will help stock local food pantry shelves. Meals of Hope is a United Way Partner Agency.

The food packing took place at United Way headquarters, where Meals of Hope delivered the equipment and food items that were assembled to make fortified chicken flavored rice and vegetable soup.

The United Way's Day of Caring is a year-round program, coordinated by the United Way Volunteer Center which matches businesses' desires to help with the needs of the community. Many local groups and companies have participated such as Publix; T3 Communications; and Markham, Norton, Mosteller & Wright PA.

Women in Business names finalists for 2019 APEX Awards

The Greater Fort Myers Chamber of Commerce's Women in Business Committee has named the top five finalists for its 14th annual APEX Awards, recently announced during the committee's monthly networking program on June 5.

The five finalists are Kathleen O. Berkey, shareholder attorney and certified land planner, Becker & Poliakoff, P.A.; Kelly L. Fayer, attorney, Kelly L. Fayer, P.A.; Kerri A. Goldsmith, financial advisor, HBKS Wealth Advisors; Julie Koester, founder, managing partner, president, Dragon Horse Media LLC; and Karen L. Mosteller, business consulting and technology partner, Markham Norton Mosteller Wright & Co., P.A.

Berkey is a shareholder attorney and a certified land planner at Becker & Poliakoff, P.A., a multi-practice commercial law firm. Berkey serves on the board of directors for Keep Lee County Beautiful, as co-chair of the Women's Leadership Initiative of the Urban Land Institute of Southwest Florida, and serves on the Breastfeeding Accommodations Committee of MothersEsquire Inc.

Fayer established The Law Offices of Kelly L. Fayer, P.A. in 2006. She is the founder of #KindLee, past president of the Lee County Bar Association, board member of the Lee County Bar Association Foundation, founding member and vice president of the Miguel C. Fernandez III Hispanic Bar Association, treasurer of CAMEO of Lee County, board member of Hope Clubhouse of Southwest Florida, honorary board member of the Guardian ad Litem Foundation, and master of Calusa Inn of Court. Koester is the founder, managing partner and president of Dragon Horse Media LLC, and founded several other companies including Mr. Toad's Toy Company, Life with Moxie, Moxie Creed and an organic skincare company. She has volunteered with the Conservancy, chaired the MS Walk, led the Columbia University Alumni Association, been a Guardian ad Litem and is the founding board chair of the Children's Museum of Naples.

Mosteller has worked in public accounting since 1986 and was named a partner with Markham Norton Mosteller Wright & Co., P.A. in 2000. She is recognized for providing strategic business solutions to a wide variety of organizations. Mosteller is an experienced presenter and has been a speaker at several national conferences as well as local business groups, in addition to serving on several boards, committees and professional organizations. She is also an active volunteer and board member with the Small Business Development Center at FGCU.
