FSPA recognizes Siliski

The Florida Swimming Pool Associa-tion selected Rod Siliski of Water Medic in Cape Coral for its Service Professional of the Year Award at the 2018 Everything Under the Sun Expo. Each local FSPA chapter had the opportunity to choose a winner in their area.

Siliski, along with two other individuals from other FSPA chapters, were recognized for excellence in customer satisfaction and the positive results that they, as a pool and spa service professionals, produced.

The FSPA is a trade association for the pool and spa industry in Florida. There are approximately 700 member businesses in 16 chapters across the state. Members are required to abide by a code of ethics and to be properly licensed and insured. FSPA provides the industry with access to continuing education courses, information on current trends and issues, an arbitration program and government relations representation. Hair Cuttery's Share-A-Haircut program this Monday, Tuesday

On Monday, May 20, and Tuesday, May 21, Hair Cuttery and the National Network to End Domestic Violence are teaming up to raise awareness for domestic violence through Hair Cuttery's Share-A-Haircut program. For every haircut purchased at one of the Hair Cuttery's over 800 salons, one free haircut certificate will be donated to a survivor of domestic violence through a network of state coalitions and local programs nationwide.

"Hair Cuttery is proud to work within our local neighborhoods to make a difference," said Dennis Ratner, co-founder and CEO of Hair Cuttery. "Our goal through the Share-A-Haircut program is to shine a light on those in need and to help strengthen and give a voice to those in our communities."

Through the partnership, Hair Cuttery and NNEDV will work closely to distribute thousands of free haircut certificates to individuals affected by domestic violence, including women, children, and men.

The Share-A-Haircut program is in its 20th year, with over 51,000 certificates already having been donated in February to the homeless. Hair Cuttery has an established history of charitable giving that has supported a range of local and national causes including Breast Cancer Research Foundation, American Red Cross, American Cancer Society, and Girls on the Run.

Better Contractors Bureau expanding to Cape Coral, Fort Myers area

The Better Contractors Bureau Ltd. is a non-profit consumer protection agency founded in 1974 and based in Rochester, N.Y. It will shortly be expanding its services to now include parts of Lee County, Florida, concentrating to start in the Cape Coral and Fort Myers areas.

Its mission is to "Protect and Inform" the consumer when dealing with home improvement contractors and home build-ers and its goal is to eliminate the unscrupulous, fly-by-night contractors who scam the unsuspecting homeowners.

BCB services include accepting complaints on contractors who do faulty work only within a three-year period unless a contract specifies a longer date or a money scam of seniors is involved. In addition, it answers technical construction questions from consumers, gives tips to seniors regarding signing contracts, payment disbursements to contractors and has an in-house mediation program to help resolve contractor/consumer disputes amicably to help avoid costly legal fees and time spent in lengthy court proceedings.

The BCB is supported by occasional grants, related construction suppliers, banks and many other concerned businesses who believe in its mission and goal along with vetted contractors, builders and sub-contractor members who go through an investigative application process.

SalusCare to host Job Fair on June 4

SalusCare, the area's most comprehensive provider of behavioral healthcare services, will be hosting a Job Fair on Tuesday, June 4, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., on its Evans Campus at 3763 Evans Ave.

At the SalusCare Job Fair, those interested will be able to complete an application on-site, speak with hiring managers, and learn more about benefits. Among the open positions are full-time, part-time and PRN positions such as clinical staff, intake clinicians, dietary aides, clerical staff, nurses and behavioral health technicians.

Crowley Joins MNMW

Markham Norton Mosteller Wright & Co., P.A., have welcomed Courtney Crowley to the firm's Litigation Support, Forensic Accounting and Mediation Services team. In her role, she provides forensic review and analysis for civil matters involving commercial damages, lost profits, shareholder disputes, personal injury and wrongful death damages, dissolution of marriage, and fraud investigations.

Crowley graduated from Florida Gulf Coast Univer-sity with a bachelor of science degree in accounting in May 2018.
