Black named human resources manager at Cypress Cove

Ammie Black has been named human resources manager for the Life Plan community of Cypress Cove at HealthPark Florida.

A former associate in the Cypress Cove Human Resources department for the past six years, Black is responsible for the community's daily operations of the human resource office and providing management of employee relations, recruitment, retention, professional development, performance management, state and federal compliance, managerial support, workers' compensation, and conflict management.

She holds a bachelor's degree in human resources and organizational development from Rasmussen College and is dual certified as a professional in Human Resources through the HR Certification Institute as well as the Society for Human Resource Management. Ms. Black brings over 17 years of HR experience to her new role.

Cypress Cove, a not-for-profit organization, opened in 1999, is a Life Plan Community (formerly known as a continuing care retirement community. Noguera to speak at CCCIA meeting

The Cape Coral Construction Industry Association's next dinner meeting date is Thursday, May 30, at 5:30 p.m., at the Westin in the Rosen Ballroom.

The guest speaker, new city of Cape Coral Economic Development Manager Ricardo Noguera, will give his vision on where he see the future of economic development in the City of Cape Coral.

Assisted Living Locators launches local franchise

Assisted Living Locators has announced the launch of its franchise in Cape Coral and Port Charlotte. Assisted Living Locators provides the full continuum of care offering assistance in locating quality assisted living options throughout Southwest Florida including Cape Coral, North Fort Myers and Port Charlotte areas.

Cruz passes CFE exam

Indira S. Cruz, a staff accountant with McHale, P.A., has passed the Certified Fraud Examiner exam. This is a credential awarded by the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners .

To become a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), one must meet the following requirements: be an Associate Member of the ACFE in good standing, meet minimum academic and professional requirements (undergraduate degree plus master's degree or professional fesignation(s) and professional experience), be of high moral character, agree to abide by the bylaws and code of professional ethics of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners and pass the CFE Examination

Cruz joined McHale, P.A. in 2014. She earned an associate's degree in accounting from Edison State College and her bachelor's degree in accounting from Florida Gulf Coast University. She also studied for three years at the University of Havana, Cuba. Cruz is a member of the ACFE.

Workplace safety expert to help local manufacturers reduce risk

Crooks joins ALA and chamber board
