28 local students named 2019 Carson Scholars

The 2019 class of Carson Scholars was recently announced and 28 Lee County students are among the recipients.

Across the nation, 505 students are receiving the designation as 2019 Carson Scholars.

Each student will receive a $1,000 college scholarship, a recognition package and an invitation to a regional awards banquet. In addition to this outstanding group, 878 students earned the title of 2019 Recognized Scholars. These students continue to exhibit the qualities of Carson Scholars by maintaining academic excellence and humanitarianism, and they will be honored with a recognition package and an invitation to an awards banquet.

The Carson Scholar winners from Cape Coral are Sophia Borysenko, a 5th grader at Patriot Elementary School; Delainey Fearn, a 7th grader at Caloosa Middle School; Eric Feichthaler Jr., and 8th grader at Oasis Middle School; Isabella Ico, an 11th grader at Cape Coral High School; Kaitlin Marino, a 5th grader at Pelican Elementary School; Alexis Schneider, a 5th grader at Skyline Elementary; Aisha Smaller, a 10th grader at Mariner High School; and Destiny Thompson, a 5th grader at Diplomat Elementary School.

The Lee County winners Alexandra Basto, a 5th grader at Lehigh Elementary School; Kaylee Brown, a 5th grader at Bayshore Elementary School, North Fort Myers; Ambrielle Calixte, a 5th grader at Dr. Carrie Robinson Littleton Elementary School, North Fort Myers; Kurukulasuriya Fernando, a 5th grader at Allen Park Elementary in Fort Myers; Kathering Goldberg, a 5th grader at Edison Park Elementary School in Fort Myers; Allyson Guerin, a 5th grader at Gateway Elementary School in Fort Myers; Catelyn Holomb, a 5th grader at Heights Elementary School in Fort Myers; Ryan Hunter, a 5th grader at Franklin Park Elementary School in Fort Myers; Dalevyon Knight, an 8th grader at St. Michael Lutheran School in Fort Myers; Olivia Lee, a 5th grader at Pine Island Elementary School; Zoe McEwen, a 7th grader at Varsity Lakes Middle School in Lehigh Acres; Audrey Mulka, a 5th grader at The Sanibel School; Mia Ottolini, a 5th grader at North Fort Myers Academy of the Arts; Marisol Pascual-Gaspar, a 5th grader at Orange River Elementary School in Fort Myers; Halle Rainey, a 9th grader at Evangelical Christian School in Fort Myers; Yeudiel Rodriguez Burgo, a 5th grader at Colonial Elementary School in Fort Myers; Jaelyn Soliven, a 5th grader at San Carlos Park Elementary School in Fort Myers; Adrian Tello, a 5th grader at Sunshine Elementary School in Lehigh Acres; Savanna Webster, a 5th grader at The Alva School; and Reagan Wood, a 5th grader at Tropic Isles Elementary School in North Fort Myers.
