Baseball

Mariner 17, Estero 5 (6 innings): Mariner blew the game wide open with a 10-run top of the sixth. Estero (4-7) led 4-1 after the first inning, but the Tritons (11-1) outscored Estero 16-1 the rest of the way. Alex Freeland homered and drove in three runs, while Jaylen Youngs, Xzavien Torres, Jimmy Meredith and Louis Alberro had two RBI each. Meredith scored three times, and Young and Freeland combine for four of Mariner's 10 stolen bases. Dominick Cotoni pitched five innings for the win. Mariner has a home District 6A-11 game with Ida Baker on Friday.

Oasis 22, East Lee County 13: The Sharks (4-2) came off a two-week and snapped a two-game losing streak. East Lee County fell to 0-7. Oasis plays at Golden Gate on Friday.

Softball

Bishop Verot 25, Barron Collier 4: The Vikings brought out the lumber against the Cougars (1-9) with 16 hits, and took advantage of six Collier errors. Leading the way were Ashley Smallwood with three hits, four run scored and four RBI, and Trinity Vallee had three hits including a triple and scored three times. Audrey Mills, Courtney Teeter and Mackenzie Woods had two RBI each. Teeter also scored three runs. Bishop Verot (7-8) is off until April 4, when the Vikings are home against Lely.

North Fort Myers 11, Cape Coral 1 (6 innings): North Fort Myers (8-5, 3-1 District 6A-11) spotted the Seahawks a 1-0 lead through three innings, then scored the game's last 11 runs. Haley Weaver had three hits and scored twice, Alexis Morris had three hits and two RBI, and Sarah Giompalo, Sydney Morris and Kirsten Gnagey had two RBI each. Emma Johnson (4-3) struck out seven and allowed only one hit for the win. Cape committed five errors. The Red Knights travel to Island Coast on Friday, while Cape Coral (7-4, 1-2) is at Lehigh on Monday.

Estero 1, Mariner 0 (8 innings): Estero scored the game's only run on an eighth-inning error. Hannah Holloway pitched a 1-hitter for Mariner. The Tritons (8-7, 5-1) were coming off a 20-0 District 6A-11 win Tuesday against Ida Baker. Mariner is home against Ida Baker on Friday.

Oasis defeated Gateway Charter: Details not available.

Tuesday

Baseball

Mariner 1, Ida Baker 0: Jaylen Youngs drove in Matthew Morales in the top of the fifth inning to lift the Tritons (10-1 District 6A-11) over Ida Baker (6-4, 1-2). Louis Alberro went the distance for Mariner, holding the Bulldogs to three hits and two walks while striking out five. Jimmy Meredith had two of the Tritons' five hits. Mariner plays at Estero on Wednesday before a rematch at Ida Baker on Friday.

Island Coast 3, North Fort Myers 1: The Gators improved to 10-1, 4-0 in District 6A-11. Gavin Hause drove in Riley Reed for North's run. The Red Knights (3-6, 0-5) travel to Island Coast on Friday.

Bishop Verot 7, Seacrest Country Day 0: Daniel Blitz was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI for the Vikings, while Scott Edwards was 2-for-3 with a solo home run. Pitcher Kelle Grau held Seacrest to two hits over four innings for the win, striking out six. Andrew Vieceli fanned seven over three perfect innings. Bishop Verot (6-5) plays at Lely on Wednesday.

Fort Myers 9, Cape Coral 3: Fort Myers (7-2) scored six runs in the last two innings to blow open a close game. Cape Coral (3-7) has a game Friday at Gulf Coast.

Softball

Mariner 20, Ida Baker 0 (3 innings): Hannah Holloway led the Tritons' onslaught, going 3-for-3 with a homer, driving in five runs, stealing two bases and scoring four times. Holloway also pitched the first two innings, allowing one hit and striking out one. Delicia Bent pitched the final inning, allowing no hits and striking out a batter. Bent also had a big night offensively, going 2-for-2, scoring four times with four RBI. Georgia Waddell and Erin Pratt had two RBI each. Mariner (8-6, 5-1 District 6A-11) dropped Ida Baker to 0-12, 0-4.

The Tritons face Estero on Wednesday, then the Bulldogs again on Friday. Ida Baker plays Gateway Charter on Thursday before the rematch.

Bishop Verot 13, North Port 9: McKenzie Woods led a 19-hit Vikings (5-7) attack with a two-run homer, a triple and four RBI. Jade Soto went 4-for-5 and Alexis Hollinger had three RBI. Trinity Vallee went the distance as Bishop Verot's pitcher, striking out five. Five of North Port's nine runs were unearned. The Vikings travel to Barron Collier on Thursday.

North Fort Myers 15, Island Coast 0 (3 innings): Sydney Morris (4-2) was the winning pitcher for North (7-5, 3-1 District 6A-11), and also had two hits and three RBI. Frankie Herzog also had two hits and three RBI, and Alexis Morris, Haley Weaver and Alyssa Morris had two RBI each. The Red Knights play at Cape Coral on Wednesday. Island Coast (0-13, 0-5) plays North again on Friday.
