Public safety issues to be discussed at REIS meeting

Emergency preparedness and public safety issues will be discussed at the Real Estate Investment Society's luncheon meeting Tuesday, April 9. Lee Mayfield, director of Lee County's Department of Public Safety, will be the featured speaker.

Mayfield will address lessons learned from Hurricane Irma and preparations for the approaching hurricane season. In addition to emergency management and medical services, the Department of Public Safety also oversees the government communications network and administers distribution of fire and EMS impact fees. Following the presentation, Mayfield will respond to questions of specific interest to the real estate investment and development industry.

Mayfield, CEM, FPEM, joined Lee County Emergency Management in 2014. He previously served as emergency management coordinator with Collier County Emergency Management and as State Emergency Management Regional Coordinator for Southwest Florida.

The meeting is sponsored by IBERIA Bank, and will begin promptly at 11:45 a.m., April 9, in the Osprey Room at Pelican Preserve's Clubhouse, on Treeline Avenue at Colonial Boulevard, one mile east of I-75 exit 136, in Fort Myers.

Admission is $30 for members and $40 for guests, which includes lunch.

Reservations are required by April 4 and may be made at the REIS web site:
