Briody joins Raymond Building Supply

Raymond Building Supply has announced the hiring of Corie Briody as the company's marketing and events coordinator.

Based out of Raymond Building Supply's North Fort Myers showroom, Briody is responsible for the day-to-day marketing and event coordination for the company, a leading building supply provider serving Lee, Collier, Sarasota, Hamilton, Broward and Hillsborough counties. In this role, Briody carries out the planning and execution of the company's ongoing events, which include regular "Lunch and Learn" seminars for its associates, and she also manages the company's social media channels to raise awareness of new products, offerings and special promotions.

Prior to her full-time position, Briody served as a marketing intern with Design Studio by Raymond, a subsidiary of Raymond Building Supply. For more than two years, she provided marketing support for the design and product showroom in addition to developing promotional efforts for the company's diverse and comprehensive product selection and superior professional services.

The Illinois native earned a bachelor of science degree in marketing from Florida Gulf Coast University.

Studio + completes architecture, interior design work for hospital's Critical Care Unit

Studio+, an integrated services design firm, has completed the architecture and interior design for NCH Baker Hospital's renovated Critical Care Unit. The new space will accommodate 22 new critical care beds as well as support areas for staff.

The design of the 18,650-plus-square-foot Critical Care Unit enhances the patient experience and provides the best possible healing environment. Oversized patient rooms provide a family zone to accommodate overnight stays. A common family center provides a space to recharge and serves as an overflow for family members and friends.

Additionally, the warm neutral color palette, along with artwork derived from nature, creates a healing environment that helps reduce anxiety associated with critical care.

2019 Allied memberships applications available

The American Institute of Architects (AIA) Florida Southwest Chapter is now accepting Allied Membership Applications for 2019. Allied members may be individuals who otherwise are not eligible to join the AIA, or businesses who support the architectural profession, either through goods or services, or simply a shared interest in our built environment. The chapter hosts many events throughout the year including monthly breakfast meetings for the Naples and Fort Myers sections, Continuing Education classes and presentations, a lecture series and AIA's Annual Design Conference and Design Awards.

Allied membership is separate at each level of the AIA: national, state, and local.
