Bishop Verot 7, Imagine School North Port 1: The Vikings (2-1) earned a road win in their district opener. The two schools play again Friday at Bishop Verot.

Island Coast 4, Cypress Lake 0: Chase Chatman pitched a no-hitter, struck out 14 and held Cypress Lake to a single walk. Island Coast is 3-1, 2-0 in District 6A-11.

Port Charlotte 4, Cape Coral 0: Port Charlotte (2-2, 1-1 District 6A-11) broke open a scoreless game with a run in the sixth inning and three more in the seventh. Lucas Carr and Danny Valdez had hits for Cape Coral (2-2, 1-1). The Seahawks' Jacob Robinson pitched four scoreless innings.

Mariner 10, North Fort Myers 3: Gavin Walker went 4-for-4 and drove in two runs, Jimmy Meredith was 4-for-5, scored three runs and had an RBI, and Jaylen Youngs and Louis Alberro had two RBI each for the Tritons. Alberro pitched five shutout innings for the win. Mariner (2-0) got its first District 6A-11 wins, while North Fort Myers fell to 1-1, 0-1.

Ida Baker 7, IMG Blue 2: The Bulldogs (3-2) got five shutout innings from Michael Holmes, allowing just two hits and recording four strikeouts. Nick Richir earned a save. Mac Moise doubled and walked twice, Trey Koza, Jarred Pinto and Derek Ortiz had RBI. Ida Baker plays at South Fort Myers on Friday.

Softball

Bishop Verot 17, Gateway Charter 0: Trinity Vallee's no-hitter accompanied by some big bats led the Vikings (1-4) to their first win of the season. Vallee struck out six of the nine batters she faced. McKenzie Woods tripled twice in going 3-for-3 with three RBI, while Jade Soto and Ashley Smallwood each tripled and drove in a run. Audrey Mills scored three times and had an RBI as well. The Vikings are 1-0 in District 5A-4. Gateway fell to 3-1, 1-1.

Mariner 1, North Fort Myers 0: Georgia Waddell went 2-for-2 with an RBI, while Hannah Holloway struck out 12 in a three-hit shutout. The Tritons are 3-1, 2-0 in District 6A-11. North slipped to 2-3, 1-1.

Cypress Lake 22, Island Coast 6: The Gators slipped to 0-7, 0-3 in District 6A-11. Natalie Siebert doubled, tripled and drove in two runs for Island Coast.
