Zero tolerance

February 21, 2019
Cape Coral Daily Breeze

To the editor:

First, I would like The Breeze to know that there is a difference between an editorial and a police infomercial.

However the idea of a menu of punishments for juvenile miscreants is a great idea. I understand how "fed up" the police must be with all of this, especially when you consider that these children get their ideas from all the grownups in the room. Perhaps we can run TV and billboard ads listing the punishments for all sorts of crimes. I am sure that we could eliminate all manner of distractions from daily policing.

What a peaceful and kind world we would have if we just threatened everyone. That has worked well in the past, hasn't it?

Ladies and gentleman, we have tried coercion and it does not work. Our children see disrespect and hatred from degenerate politicians, sports figures, religious clergy and the thousands of groups that are willing to "look the other way " as long as it supports their agenda.

Yes, let's lock up these kids - it's how we solve problems.... isn't it?
