Aubuchon Homes' Carlisle Bay Model wins top Lee BIA award

Aubuchon Homes' Carlisle Bay model received a Superior Home Award during the 2019 Parade of Homes. The Lee Building Industry Association event honored builders for excellence in residential design and construction. Judged by industry experts from outside of Lee County, each home was evaluated on site. The highest total score in each price category was awarded the Superior Home Award. Aubuchon Homes' in-house design team also received a Merit Award for the project.

Shell Point informational seminar in Cape Coral March 13

Cape Coral-area residents will have the opportunity to learn about local retirement options during Shell Point Retirement Community's "Shell Point Retirement Roadshow," a free informational seminar taking place from 9 to 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, March 13, at The Westin Cape Coral, 5951 Silver King Blvd., in Cape Coral.

During this educational presentation, Shell Point's retirement counselors will offer guests an opportunity to learn about the comprehensive lifecare options and resort-style retirement offerings available in this nationally recognized retirement community in Fort Myers. Stevens Construction completes project for Lee Health

Stevens Construction has completed construction of a 57,000-square-foot, post-acute care skilled nursing unit for Lee Health, announced Mark Stevens, company president.

Developed by Aquila Healthcare Development, Lee Health is leasing the three-story, 75-bed medical facility, which provides post-acute services for patients needing short-term medical recovery and rehabilitation after their hospital stays.

With architectural services provided by Studio+, the Gulf Coast Medical Center Skilled Nursing Unit is designed with a homelike approach with three separate units, each housing an open concept living room, kitchen, nurse station and 25 private patient beds with convenient access to the occupational and physical therapy rooms. The Skilled Nursing Unit features a 3,000-square-foot therapy gym incorporating the latest technology and equipment, and a wellness garden with lush landscaping and herb planting stations.

Real Estate Investment Society announces new officers and board members

The Real Estate Investment Society has announced the election of officers and the Board of Governors to lead the organization during 2019: President Alexis Crespo, AICP, of Waldrop Engineering; Vice President Mary Gentile, CSM, CRX, of LandQwest Property Management; Treasurer Bill Morris, P.E., of Morris-Depew Associates; and Secretary Kent Poli, of Busey Bank.

Lee BIA Builders Care announces date, sponsorship opportunities for 10th annual BBQ, Bands & Brew event

Lee BIA Builders Care, the nonprofit charitable arm of the Lee Building Industry Association, has announced April 7 as the date for its 10th annual BBQ, Bands & Brew event, presented by All Star Equipment Rentals & Sales.

Celebrating this milestone year, the event will feature some of Southwest Florida's top pit masters competing for the title of "Best BBQ in Town," live music from local headlining bands, numerous vendors, and fun-filled activities for all ages including a lively cornhole tournament and a children's play area with face-painting, games and more.

The mission of Lee BIA Builders Care is to provide emergency construction services at no cost to needy and deserving elderly and/or disabled homeowners, and their families, who cannot obtain repairs through traditional means. To date, Lee BIA Builders Care has helped more than 385 Lee County households, providing in excess of $4.5 million in construction services and materials at no cost to families.
