Motorcycles are allowed back on the street this weekend during Cape Coral Bike Night.

City of Cape Coral Special Events Coordinator Todd King said after a one-month change, bikes are allowed back on Southeast 47th Terrace for the event set for Saturday.

Street parking also will return.

The change made in December before the Southeast 47th Terrace streetscape project officially concluded this week had designated off-street parking for motorcycles.

"The segue is that all motorcycles will have to be cleared off the street by 11 p.m.," he said.

Bike Night, which alternates between the cities of Fort Myers and Cape Coral during "season," runs from 5-10 p.m.

King advises bikers who linger to enjoy the South Cape Entertainment District to make a plan to move their bikes to another parking lot by the deadline.

"Bikes not moved are subject to be towed," he said, adding that motorcycles are allowed to park on the street for a limited time, just during the event.

The live music for this Saturday's Bike Night will feature The Collective from 6:30 to 8 p.m. and Chain Reaction - Journey from 8:30 to 10 p.m.

"We are excited to finally have the streetscape done and we continue to work with the new beautiful streetscape to have a great event," King said.
