Christian Women's Connection's 'Second Time Around' breakfast Feb. 11

The Christian Women's Connection invites all ladies to its "Second Time Around" breakfast on Monday, Feb. 11, at Palmetto Pines Country Club. The address is 1940 S.W. 9th Court in Cape Coral, off of Skyline Boulevard. The cost is $20.50 prepaid and inclusive.

This is the group's yearly fundraiser with many items to purchase including jewelry, miscellaneous household items and baked goods. There will be a silent auction of baskets filled with goodies. The doors will be open at 8:45-9:25 a.m.for the fundraiser sale.

The breakfast and meeting is from 9:30-11:30 a.m. The sale will then resume from 11:30 a.m. to noon.

The speaker is Susan Werthem, who will feature Rustic Art and speak on the theme "Life is like an Omelette." Music will also be provided.

First Christian Church to host 'Joy in the Journey'

First Christian Church at 2620 Country Club Blvd., in Cape Coral, is holding a one-day women's seminar called "Joy in the Journey" on Saturday, Feb. 23, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tickets include a light breakfast and hot lunch.

St. Katharine Drexel to host 'Faith in Numbers 5K Run/Walk'

St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church invites the public to participate in "Faith in Numbers 5K Run/Walk" a celebration of unity and solidarity among our Southwest Florida faith communities.

In light of the recent attack on the Jewish Synagogue in Pittsburgh, the church is moved to unify the faith community in Southwest Florida, and invites all neighboring faith communities to join with the desire and commitment to heal and live in mutual respect and harmony.

The Faith in Numbers 5K Run/Walk will take place Saturday, March 2, at 7 a.m., at Jaycee Park, 4215 S.E. 20th Place, Cape Coral. The run/walk will be supported by the city, with official time keeping and advertised and sponsored by supporting businesses to keep the cost of registration at a minimal to encourage families, youth groups, and serious runners to participate.

Gulf Coast Harmonizers to perform at Zion Lutheran Church in Fort Myers

The Gulf Coast Harmonizers will be performing today, Feb. 8, at 7 p.m., at Zion Lutheran Church, 7401 Winkler Road, Fort Myers.

Admission is free; a love offering will be received. Doors open at 6 p.m.

The Gulf Coast Harmonizers has been entertaining Southwest Florida residents since 1991 and is open to men of any age who have an interest in singing in the barbershop four-part a cappella style. Fort Myers Congregational UCC 'Attic Treasures' sale

Come to Fort Myers Congregational United Church of Christ at 8210 College Parkway on Saturday, Feb. 9, from 8:30 a.m. top 12:30 p.m., to find "Attic Treasures" - housewares, clothing, small appliances, tools, jewelry, holiday decorations, linens, books, toys and more.

For those with an appetite, there will also be baked goods and hot dogs for sale.

Proceeds from the sale will support local community organizations such as the Destiny Diaper Bank, Footsteps to the Future, Gladiolus Learning and Development Center and Voices for Kids.
