Christian Women's Connection's 'Second Time Around' breakfast Feb. 11

The Christian Women's Connection invites all ladies to its "Second Time Around" breakfast on Monday, Feb. 11, at Palmetto Pines Country Club. The address is 1940 S.W. 9th Court in Cape Coral, off of Skyline Boulevard. The cost is $20.50 prepaid and inclusive.

This is the group's yearly fundraiser with many items to purchase including jewelry, miscellaneous household items and baked goods. There will be a silent auction of baskets filled with goodies. The doors will be open at 8:45-9:25 a.m.for the fundraiser sale.

The breakfast and meeting is from 9:30-11:30 a.m. The sale will then resume from 11:30 a.m. to noon.

The speaker is Susan Werthem, who will feature Rustic Art and speak on the theme "Life is like an Omelette." Music will also be provided.

All reservations must be prepaid and are due on Wednesday, Feb. 6. Please call 239-567-0808 for information and reservations.

St. Katharine Drexel to host 'Faith in Numbers 5K Run/Walk'

St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church invites the public to participate in "Faith in Numbers 5K Run/Walk" a celebration of unity and solidarity among our Southwest Florida faith communities.

In light of the recent attack on the Jewish Synagogue in Pittsburgh, the church is moved to unify the faith community in Southwest Florida, and invites all neighboring faith communities to join with the desire and commitment to heal and live in mutual respect and harmony.

The Faith in Numbers 5K Run/Walk will take place Saturday, March 2, at 7 a.m., at Jaycee Park, 4215 S.E. 20th Place, Cape Coral. The run/walk will be supported by the city, with official time keeping and advertised and sponsored by supporting businesses to keep the cost of registration at a minimal to encourage families, youth groups, and serious runners to participate.

Arts and Crafts Sale at Fishers of Men Lutheran Church on Pine Island

The last Arts and Crafts Sale, rain or shine and inside and outside, at Fishers of Men Lutheran Church, 10360 Stringfellow Road, Pine Island, is set for Feb. 9.

Many returning vendors from the November and December show and new vendors are scheduled to bring their wares.

Donuts and coffee, Belly Buster hot dogs and delicious fresh baked treats are available at the sale.

Sharyl Lemke, 239-283-1645, is chairman of the Arts and Crafts Sale. The sale runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

First Christian Church

to host 'Joy in the Journey'

First Christian Church at 2620 Country Club Blvd., in Cape Coral, is holding a one-day women's seminar called "Joy in the Journey" on Saturday, Feb. 23, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tickets include a light breakfast and hot lunch. Fort Myers Congregational UCC to hold 'Attic Treasures' sale

Come to Fort Myers Congregational United Church of Christ at 8210 College Parkway on Saturday, Feb. 9, from 8:30 a.m. top 12:30 p.m., to find "Attic Treasures" - housewares, clothing, small appliances, tools, jewelry, holiday decorations, linens, books, toys and more.

For those with an appetite, there will also be baked goods and hot dogs for sale.

Proceeds from the sale will support local community organizations such as the Destiny Diaper Bank, Footsteps to the Future, Gladiolus Learning and Development Center and Voices for Kids.
