Oppose land use, rezoning, change

January 11, 2019
Cape Coral Daily Breeze

To the editor:

On Jan. 9, I attended a meeting in Cape Coral regarding new land use and rezoning. To my surprise, I had to find out this meeting info from a neighbor.

Being a southwest Cape resident, these changes affect the four corners of Beach Parkway and Aqualinda, proposed from a Commercial Activity Center (CAC) to a current zoning Marketplace Residential (MR).

This change would allow 414 units to be built on three of the four corners. With the possibility of two vehicles per unit, that would put 828 new vehicles on the roads, a half mile from two schools every day, which have traffic backups now.

The negative change this would bring is huge.

Please call or email your council man, District 2, John Carioscia, at 239-242-3288, or jcarioscia@ capecoral.net. Voice your opposition to this change and stop the madness.
