Church of the Epiphany card party, luncheon

The Epiphany Church Women will hold a Card Party/Luncheon, Friday, Feb. 8, from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the church, 2507 Del Prado Blvd., S., in Cape Coral.

Cards or games may be played. There will be door prizes, raffles, crafts and bakery goods. Funds raised are for the church's Outreach Programs, such as the Cape Coral Caring Center, Guardian Ad Litem, Ronald McDonald House and others.

Reservations are required. Tickets are $10. Call Ruth McConnell, at 574-4299.

Savvy Caregiver Program Tuesdays at Grace Church

The Alvin A. Dubin Alzheimer's Resource Center, in conjunction with Grace Church, will be hosting the Savvy Caregiver Program. These sessions will be held on Tuesdays, starting Jan. 29, from 2-4 p.m., at Grace Church, at 13 S.E. 21st Place, Cape Coral, 33990. Grace has offered to provide free respite for your loved one with memory impairment, while you attend the course (advanced registration is required for respite). Respite includes important socialization, music, art and on occasion pet therapy. Snacks are also provided.

This educational program is designed to train family caregivers in the basic knowledge, skills and attitudes needed to cope with the challenges of caring for a family member with Alzheimer's disease or related dementia. Sessions are delivered in 2-hour increments. There is no charge for this program and seating is limited. Please RSVP by Jan. 28 by calling the Alvin A. Dubin Alzheimer's Resource Center at 239-437-3007. This program is made possible through a grant from the Cape Coral Community Foundation.

The Alvin A. Dubin Alzheimer's Resource Center, a United Way partner agency, provides information, support, and education for individuals with Alzheimer's disease or related memory impairment and their family caregivers in Lee and Hendry Counties. The Dubin Alzheimer's Resource Center is located at 12468 Brantley Commons Court, Fort Myers.

Christian Women's Connection to meet Jan. 14 at Palmetto Pine

The Christian Women's Connection invites all ladies to its New Year's breakfast Monday, Jan. 14, from 9:30-11:30 a.m.

Come for a "New Year Wardrobe." he doors will be open at 8:45 a.m. for a social time and to shop for jewelry and clothing before the meeting,

There will be one hour set aside after the meeting to continue shopping if you like.

The meeting will be held at Palmetto Pine Country Club at 1940 S.W. 9th Court in Cape Coral. The cost is $20.50 inclusive.

Nunzie Peterman is our soloist and Debra Richards will speak on "Mirror, Mirror on the Wall."

Bill Gaither and Gaither Vocal Band to perform in Fort Myers Jan. 25

On Friday, Jan. 25, at the First Assembly of God in Fort Myers, multi-Grammy Award-winner Bill Gaither will host an evening of music, laughter and encouragement featuring the talent of the prestigious Gaither Vocal Band

The Gaither Vocal Band will share timeless gospel classics, as well as refreshing, inspiring new favorites embraced by audiences of all ages and backgrounds. Few events have the ability unite individuals from all walks of life the way Gaither concerts do.

This past fall, the Gaither Vocal Band celebrated the release of its brand new recording, "We Have This Moment," produced by famed country and gospel music performer and studio musician Gordon Mote. The recording is a musical snapshot of a special season for this lauded quintet, featuring Gaither, Wes Hampton, Adam Crabb, Todd Suttles and Reggie Smith, the newest addition to the iconic group.
