Cape Coral Daily Breeze

A journey of an awarding winning photographer, an inspiring story of one of Cape Coral youth's Katy Danca Galli, will be featured during the next speaker series of the Cape Coral Historical Society Tuesday, Jan. 8, at 2:30 p.m. at Cultural Park Theater.

Galli, who will share her story and amazing photos, grew up in Cape Coral but now lives in Fort Myers, but as she states on her website, "Growing up on the west coast of Florida, I've been so grateful to experience the beauty of our blue planet first hand."

She graduated from Savannah College of Art and Design with a BFA in photography. In her bio, she tells of her many achievements, "I am a photographer, former photo editor for Scuba Diving magazine, master diver, former Boy Scout (seriously), ocean advocate, and lover of all bodies of water."

Her work has been featured with Captains for Clean Water, as the first female resident artist for the Lee County Tourism Bureau, Bare Sports online, Scuba Diving magazine, Sport Diver Magazine,, and has won contests with the Ocean Conservancy, Our World Underwater, the World Wildlife Federation, placing first in wide angle with the Florida Skin Divers Association, and won the Cover of the Year Charlie Award for 2012.

As they say, "A photograph is worth a thousand words" and her photographs are just that sentiment.

Come and see Galli's photographs at the Cultural Park Theater, 528 Cultural Park Blvd., Cape Coral. Free admission.
