Region 3A-3 meet: Cape Coral's Cheyenne Young finished third Saturday at the region meet in Punta Gorda, leading the Seahawks to a sixth place finish and a trip to the state meet. Gracia Rojas of Mariner came in 13th, qualifying for states as an individual. The state meet is next Saturday in Tallahassee.

State Class 1A: Bishop Verot's Reece Kyle tied for 22nd in the state Class 1A golf tournament at Howey-in-the-Hills. On the girls' side, the Vikings' Claire Sattler was 50th and Gabby Vetter tied for 56th. Cape Coral resident Brittany Shin, who competes for Canterbury School in Fort Myers, was second overall.

Swimming

Seahawks repeat: Cape Coral swept the District 2A-10 swim meet, making it four district titles in a row for the boys and two straight for the girls. Jack Pellegrino won the boys' 200 freestyle, Steven Rua took the boys' 200 individual medley, and both swimmers were part of the district champion 200 medley relay team. Nicole Rodriguez took the district title in girls' 200 individual medley. A day earlier, Phaedra Jelanowski won the district diving championship.
