Premier Palm Properties welcomes four new agents

Kelly O'Connell is a results-driven real estate professional utilizing her background in information technology to connect buyers and sellers.

Real Estate Investment Society awards scholarships

The Real Estate Investment Society has announced the award of the annual Paul Sands Memorial REIS Scholarship to Florida Gulf Coast University students Chezanne McLeod, Randy Lopez and Seth Thompson. The scholarships each provide $2,500 toward tuition and books.

These scholars also receive honorary membership in REIS for one year and may attend meetings on a complimentary basis.

McLeod is a senior majoring in legal studies, minoring in real estate, and looking forward to working in a real estate law firm. She works full-time in a property management firm while attending FGCU.

Lopez is a junior majoring in pre-finance. He is a resident assistant with the housing department at FGCU and intends to be a real estate financial analyst after graduation.

Thompson is a senior, majoring in finance. He currently interns with a commercial real estate brokerage and looks forward to a career as an investment advisor.

Mark Morris, chairman of the REIS scholarship committee, explained that the Paul Sands Memorial REIS Scholarship is an endowed FGCU scholarship program, funded by REIS Scholarship Foundation, a not-for-profit, registered 501(c)3 corporation. Continuing contributions from REIS and the annual Paul Sands Memorial Slaw Dog Invitational Golf Tournament have increased and sustained the fund.

Owen-Ames-Kimball collecting Hurricane Michael relief supplies

In the wake of Hurricane Michael's impact on the Florida Panhandle, Owen-Ames-Kimball Company is collecting hurricane relief supplies to aid in the region's efforts to recover from the storm. Through today, Friday, Oct. 19, O-A-K is collecting donations at its offices in Fort Myers and Naples, and will deliver a semitruck full of relief supplies to the Panama City, Florida area.

Donations are being collected through Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. at O-A-K's offices, located at 11941 Fairway Lakes Drive in Fort Myers and 5117 Castello Drive, Suite 2, in Naples.

Needed supplies include, but are not limited to, generators, chains aws, gas cans, shovels, flashlights, plywood, batteries, rope, tarps, work gloves, trash bags, tools, 5-gallon buckets, extension cords, duct tape, portable chargers, non-perishable food items, blankets, pillows, towels, personal hygiene items, baby food and formula, dog and cat food, and water.

Stevens Construction awarded Harney Dental office

Stevens Construction has broken ground on a new 3,033-square-foot dental office for Angela M. Harney, D.M.D., P.A., announced Mark Stevens, president, Stevens Construction.

Scheduled for completion in spring of 2019, the family and cosmetic dental practice will include an expanded treatment room, laboratory, consultation room, staff lounge, offices, reception and lobby. The new office is located at 12630 New Brittany Blvd., in Fort Myers.
