CMCS to host the 53rd Annual Summerset Regatta Oct. 5-7

On Saturday, Oct. 6, sailors from Charlotte Harbour to Marco Island will converge off the coast of Fort Myers Beach to participate in the oldest and longest running regatta in Southwest Florida the Caloosahatch-ee Marching and Chowder Society's 53rd Annual Summerset Regatta.

The schedule of events begins with a Captain's Meeting at Bonita Bill's Waterfront Cafe Friday, Oct. 5, at 6:30 p.m., and racing commences with a series of Buoy Races at 10 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 6. The day of racing wraps up with a cocktail party at the Nauti Parrot Dock Bar at 19001 San Carlos Blvd, Fort Myers Beach.

Taking place on Sunday, Oct. 7, will be the regatta's long-distance racing event, spanning many miles of Southwest Florida coastline. The always-fun "Cruisers Coastal Race" begins at 9:30 a.m. with the Competitive Coastal Race at 10 a.m.

The event will close with a dinner and awards ceremony at Parrot Key, including raffle prize winners, racer and cruiser awards, the presenting of the "Fort Gorda" cup and more.

Parrot Key is at 2500 Main St., Fort Myers Beach.
