FORT MYERS As part of its continuing community outreach efforts, the Red Sox Foundation has scheduled its seventh annual Swings for the Sox golf tournament for Friday, Nov. 9.

The tournament will take place at the Raptor Bay Golf Club, located at 23001 Coconut Point Resort Drive in Bonita Springs.

A scramble format with prizes for the longest drive, putting, closest to the pin and more will begin at 8 a.m., after registration at 7:15 a.m.

A continental breakfast will be included as well as a buffet lunch.

All proceeds from this year's tournament will benefit the Lee County Red Sox Scholarship program. Each year, the Red Sox Foundation awards a $5,000 college scholarship to one deserving student from each of the 13 public high schools in Lee County.

Last year's tournament was cancelled due to Hurricane Irma, but the Red Sox Foundation still honored its annual commitment to Lee County high school students and awarded $65,000 in scholarships.

Over the past six years, $325,000 has been awarded to local nonprofits and scholarships from tournament proceeds.

This year's title sponsor is DLD Builders and joins CVS Pharmacy and The Hertz Corporation as presenting sponsors.

Tournament sponsorships are available from $150 to $10,000.

Foursome player packages for the tournament begin at $1,000.

All supporters of the Red Sox Foundation will be able to participate in an online silent auction where they can bid on one-of-a-kind auction items and other unique experiences. More details on the online silent auction will be forthcoming.

Raffle and silent auction items that can be used to aid in raising money for the Red Sox Foundation's scholarship fund and additional funds for those in need throughout Southwest Florida are also being accepted.

The Red Sox Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and the official team charity of the Boston Red Sox. The foundation's primary focus locally is in serving the health, education, recreation and social service needs of children and families across Southwest Florida. The Red Sox Foundation is one of the most successful in all of Major League Baseball.
