Dunkin' Donuts announces new partnership with FGCU Athletics

Dunkin' Donuts of Southwest Florida has announced it is now the Official Coffee of Florida Gulf Coast University Athletics. FGCU Athletics will "Run on Dunkin'" with special Dunkin' Donuts promotions and onsite giveaways at Eagles home games.

"In 2013, the Eagles men's basketball team put FGCU on the map with their remarkable success in the NCAA Tournament, earning the area the clever nickname of 'Dunk City' making our partnership the perfect match," said Erica Roomy, Dunkin' Donuts Integrated Marketing Manager. "We are proud to partner with FGCU Athletics as the Official Coffee, and cheer on the Eagles with unique offers that the whole community will enjoy."

Barritt earns Florida Bar certification in Condominium &?Planned Development Law

Henderson, Franklin, Starnes & Holt, P.A., has announced that Attorney Amanda Barritt has achieved the highest certification by The Florida Bar in Condominium & Planned Development Law. Board certified lawyers' experience and competency have been rigorously evaluated and have met the Bar's highest standards for special knowledge, skills and proficiency in various areas of law and professionalism and ethics in the practice of law.

Barritt is chair of Henderson Franklin's Condominium and Homeowners' Associations practice group. Leadership NEXT program to explore Babcock Ranch

Leadership NEXT, a monthly program for advancing business leaders, will host a session and networking opportunity at America's first solar-powered town, Babcock Ranch, from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 10.

The program will take Leadership NEXT's group of professionals on an exploration of Babcock Ranch, featuring guided tours of the community's solar field, natural landscapes and green homes, led by Laura Keller, senior vice president of marketing and sales for Babcock Ranch. Keller will share how Babcock Ranch came to fruition, its current offerings and provide future insight into what is to come for the community.

The tour will also include a visit to Lee Health's Healthy Life Center, the community's 26,000-square-foot center health and wellness center. Mathieu Knapp, supervisor of the Healthy Life Center, will share about the center's vast array of modern, convenient health services and programs that are available to residents and the surrounding community.

Following the tour, the evening will conclude with a networking opportunity at Babcock Ranch's on-site restaurant, Table & Tap.

The July Leadership NEXT program, which is managed by the Greater Fort Myers Chamber of Commerce, will begin promptly at 5 p.m. at Babcock Ranch, 42881 Lake Babcock Drive in Babcock Ranch. Nominations sought for 2018 Business Ethics Award

The Uncommon Friends Foundation has opened nominations for the 2018 Business Ethics Award that are due by Sept. 1. Businesses in Lee, Charlotte, Collier, Hendry and Glades counties who consistently demonstrate a system-wide commitment to high ethical business practices are eligible.

Businesses can nominate themselves or be nominated by a third party. The online nomination form and detailed submission guidelines are available at Independent judges will determine finalists and the winner.

Finalists will be announced in advance and honored at a special business ethics luncheon hosted by Florida Gulf Coast University's Lutgert School of Business and the Uncommon Friends Foundation on Tuesday, Oct. 23. The recipient of the Business Ethics Award will be announced at the annual Uncommon Evening Gala on Thursday, Nov. 8 at the historic Burroughs Home & Gardens in Fort Myers.

The Uncommon Friends Foundation is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to lifelong character building among today's youth and business leaders. Above Board Chamber meeting Thursday at Crowne Plaza

The Above Board Chamber's upcoming meeting will be Thursday, July 12, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Crowne Plaza at 13051 Bell Tower Drive in Fort Myers.

The subject of the meeting will be a panel discussion on "Recruiting and Hiring - How to Attract good employees," and the program will provide an understanding of the dynamics and strategies for dealing with the evolving and diverse workforce, including recruitment and training ideas for the retention of employees.

The panelists include Dr. Angela Pruitt, chief human resources officer and chief negotiator with the School District of Lee County; Robin Larkin, principal at Performance Management Associates in Naples; Denise Perchall, business development manager for AccessPoint HR; and Lori Burke, director of human resources at Sunshine Ace Hardware.

Students invited to explore Lee County with LeeTran through Summer Bus Bash Scavenger Hunt

LeeTran invites students, age 18 and younger, to explore Lee County with a Summer Bus Bash Scavenger Hunt. Students are encouraged to ride the bus from July 13 through Aug. 6 to visit select businesses of their choice and be entered to win great prizes.

During Summer Bus Bash, students can pick up a scavenger hunt map on any LeeTran bus or at the Rosa Parks Transportation Center, 2250 Widman Way, Fort Myers. After visiting at least five businesses listed on the map, and getting signatures at each business, students can turn in completed maps to any comments box on LeeTran buses.

BB&T Insurance Services rebrands as McGriff Insurance Services

BB&T Insurance Holdings Inc., a subsidiary of BB&T Corp., this week announced a rebranding for its BB&T Insurance Services retail broker.

BB&T Insurance Services is now doing business as McGriff Insurance Services. This includes BB&T-Oswald Trippe and Company.

The new name comes from affiliate McGriff, Seibels & Williams, which provides property and casualty insurance, employee benefits, life and pension plans, financial services and surety products, as well as specialty insurance programs. BB&T Insurance Services of California and BridgeTrust Title are not included in this initial rebranding.

Expanded client services include business and individual insurance, employee benefits, risk management with specialty offerings in agribusiness, construction, behavioral health care, architecture and engineering, and entertainment. The brand transition will include a new logo with an updated version of the McGriff name, as well as an updated color palette, fonts and other design elements.

The rebranding occurred just prior to the close of the acquisition of Regions Insurance Group, which has 31 offices across the Southeast, Texas and Indiana. BB&T Insurance Services announced plans last month to acquire Regions Insurance and expects to complete the deal in early third quarter.
