Point 57, a local kitchen and cocktail bar in Cape Coral, has undergone a transformation of sorts.

Kyle Williams, a New Jersey native and life-long restaurateur, purchased Point 57 from the Coral Restaurant Group back in April.

"I loved the restaurant, the place is beautiful inside," said Williams about his newest acquisition.

His goal is not to turn the place on its head, but to make some small changes he believes will benefit the already well-received establishment.

"Ninety percent of the concept will be the same," he confirmed.

Williams has made a few tweaks here and there, including larger portion sizes and reducing prices across the board.

"We've added a lot of fresh fish and are working on a summer menu, we want a homestyle feel," he added.

Point 57 plans to have four seasonal menus, with a coastal southern flare.

Chef proprietor Matt Arnold is still at the helm in the kitchen.

"Matt is the face of this place," Williams said with pride of his chef.

Other differences you may see at Point 57 include a Monday-Friday happy hour from 3-6 p.m..

"We have a whole line of new craft cocktails that will be served in 16-ounce mason jars, along with all of our craft beer being local," Williams remarked.

Craft draft pints, house wines and well mason pints will be $5, along with a $6 appetizer menu.

Another perk Williams has added is Sunday Brunch featuring fried green tomatoes, crab cake benedict and biscuits and gravy - just to name a few.

Brunch is from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., with a regular dinner menu on Sundays from noon to 8.

Lunch will also be served Monday-Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. with dinner following each night until 10.

Summer specials like Monday Burger Night and Tuesday Steak Night may be something to peak foodies' interests.

Williams is an experienced restauranteur, having played a major role in opening Lone Star Steakhouses, as well as having managed and opened 15 Hard Rock Cafes across the country-he has opened 27 restaurants in his career.

Williams made the permanent move to Cape Coral recently from New Jersey, where he still owns two other establishments in the Atlantic City area.

He wants patrons to know that all prior gift cards purchased are still valid and do not have an expiration date.

Point 57 is located 3522 Del Prado Blvd., South.
