Catholics Returning Home program under way

at St. Katharine Drexel

No matter how long you have been away and no matter what the reason, Catholics Returning Home invites you to consider renewing your relationship with the Catholic Church.

Please join in for informal listening sessions and an update of the Catholic faith.

The sessions began Monday, April 2, at 7 p.m., and run through May 7. The group meets in the St. Katharine Drexel Faith Formation Building, 1922 S.W. 20th Ave., Cape Coral.

in Bokeelia to hold

chicken dinner Saturday

The Church of God Prophecy, Bokeelia,will host a chicken dinner Saturday, April 14, from 1-5 p.m. The cost for the meal is $8.

The dinner will feature fried chicken, mashed potatoes with gravy, a choice of green beans or corn, roll, drink and choice of dessert (chocolate cake, pecan pie, coconut cake or apple pie.)

Jewish Federation of Lee &?Charlotte Counties to 'Celebrate Israel' Sunday

The Jewish Federation of Lee & Charlotte Counties presents "Celebrate Israel," a community festival in honor of Israel's 70th year as an independent state. The event will be held Sunday, April 15, at The Heights Center, 15570 Hagie Drive in Fort Myers, from 12:30-3:30 p.m.

Admission is free.

The celebration will offer activities for the entire family, including Israeli food for purchase and an Israeli-like marketplace with vendors selling items like T-shirts, jewelry, Judaica, spices and more.

Also included will be arts and crafts activities for the children, face painting, henna and Dead Sea mud facials, along with great entertainment with an Israeli band from Miami, a local band called "The Big Yarmulkes," a local synagogue's children's choir and a demonstration of Israeli dancing.

For the adults, there will also be a special Israeli wine tasting.
