Mariner 11, Port Charlotte 3: The Tritons (13-6, 9-2) wrapped up the second seed for the District 6A-11 tournament behind a 17-hit attack. Hannah Holloway, Alayna Martin and Kennedy Burham had three hits each. Burnham had three RBI, with Jasmine Halaby, Alexis Baker and Holloway driving in two runs each. Wednesday's game had been pushed back a day by rain Tuesday. Port Charlotte slipped to 9-11, 7-4.

Fort Myers 9, North Fort Myers 0: Fort Myers (19-2) won a non-district showdown with the Red Knights (16-5) at Fort Myers High on Wednesday.

LaBelle 14, Oasis 3 (3) (late Tuesday): Oasis fell to 8-8 on the season with a loss at LaBelle. The Sharks play at Lakeland Santa Fe Catholic on Thursday.

Boys Tennis

Mariner 7, Gateway Charter 0: Teddy Perchall (M) d. Miller Schnover 6-0, 6-0; Hayden Wiseley (M) d. Nate Morales 6-2, 6-1; Yeni Win (M) d. Saad Mijad 6-0, 6-0; Brandon King (M) d. Ethan Valentine 6-0, 6-0. Doubles: Nathan Laws/Esteban Orjuela (M) d. Villar/Morales 8-3; Christian DeJesus/Sergio Zarate (M) d. Schnover/Mijad 8-2.

Baseball

Mariner 6, Port Charlotte 5: Louis Alberro drove in the winning run in the top of the seventh inning as the Tritons made up Tuesday's rainout with a District 6A-11 victory at Port Charlotte. Alberro was 2-for-4 with two RBI for the night. Jaylen Young, Alex Freeland, Wade Williamson and Xzavien Torres also drove in runs for the Tritons. Gavin Walker pitched six innings for the win, and Jimmy Meredith pitched the seventh for a save. Mariner (8-9, 5-6) kept the Pirates (4-12, 0-8) winless in district play. The Tritons have won five of their last six, with all five wins coming in district competition. The teams will meet again today at Mariner.

Bishop Verot 10, Oasis 0 (6): The Vikings improved to 4-1 in District 4A-5 (7-9 overall) with a shutout of the Sharks (12-5, 3-2) at Bishop Verot.

Fort Myers 8, North Fort Myers 1: Fort Myers (9-7) dropped North Fort Myers to 8-10 in the renewal of one of the oldest rivalries in Southwest Florida. The Red Knights are off until a game Tuesday at Estero.

Softball

Cape Coral 14, Island Coast 4 (5): The Seahawks improved to 11-8, 5-6 in District 6A-11 with a win at Island Coast (7-11, 4-7). Avery Mytnik was the winning pitcher, and also went 2-for-4 with three RBI. Peyton Helton was 2-for-3 and drove in five Cape runs, while Rachel Manes was 2-for-4 with three RBI. Jenna Swift drove in two runs and scored one for Island Coast, while Natalie Sibert had an RBI and a run scored. The two teams will have a rematch today at Island Coast.

Ida Baker 10, Cypress Lake 0 (6): The Bulldogs (2-17, 2-10 District 6A-11) held Cypress Lake (3-14, 1-9) to one hit to earn their second consecutive district win.

Mariner at Port Charlotte, ppd., rain: Makeup date has not been announced.

Island Coast 7, Cape Coral 5: Mason Schweizer led the Island Coast offense, going 2-for-3 with three RBI as the Gators (13-4, 8-0) maintained their grip on first place in District 6A-11. Caleb Cecil was 2-for-3 and drove in three runs. Cape Coral's Allen Guerrero was 2-for-4 with a home run, a double, and three RBI. Spencer Roach (3-for-4) also homered for the Seahawks (13-5, 8-3). The two teams meet again Friday at Island Coast.

Cypress Lake 6, Ida Baker 5: Baker slipped to 9-10, 2-6 in District 6A-11 after the loss to Cypress Lake (11-6, 6-3). The two teams meet again Friday at Cypress Lake.

Boys basketball

Shark signing: Oasis senior Gabe Casey will sign a collegiate letter of intent to play basketball with ASA College in Miami. The signing ceremony is scheduled for 1:45 p.m. on Monday at Oasis High School. Casey averaged 17.4 points and nine rebounds a game this past season as the Sharks went 23-6, earning the first district title and first playoff victory in Oasis history.
