Baseball

North Fort Myers 7, Oasis 5: The Red Knights rallied with three runs in the top of the seventh inning for the victory. Oasis (11-4) saw its six-game win streak snapped. North Fort Myers (8-8) took advantage of Sharks errors to score six unearned runs. All seven North runs were scored in the final two innings. Dennis Talarico (5-1) suffered his first pitching loss of the season, coming in in relief of Justin Brooks. Brooks, at the plate, went 3-for-4 and drove in a run. Lewis Evans went 2-for-3 with two RBI for the Sharks.

South Gwinnett (Ga.) 13, Mariner 9: A tough night with the gloves proved the Tritons' undoing. Mariner (6-9) gave up 12 unearned runs, which allowed South Gwinnett to overcome 14 Tritons hits. Louis Alberro was 3-for-4 at the plate with two RBI for Mariner, with Jaylen Young, Jimmy Meredith, Gavin Walker and Alex Freeland collecting two hits each. Freeland drove in three runs.

Softball

Fort Myers 15, Cape Coral 0: The Seahawks fell to 8-8 on the season. Cape is home for a district game against Cypress Lake on Friday.

Mariner 3, North Fort Myers 2: In a huge win for the Tritons, Mariner (12-5, 8-1) pushed across two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to hand North Fort Myers (15-4, 10-1) its first District 6A-11 loss. Hannah Holloway was the winning pitcher, allowing two runs (one earned) on four hits and two walks with eight strikeouts. She also went 2-for-4 at the plate, with a run scored, an RBI, and two stolen bases. Yasmine Halaby also had an RBI for the Tritons. Tuesday's result makes the rematch on Friday at North even bigger. A Mariner win would give the Tritons an advantage in the fight for first place in the district. On the other hand, North could gain a stranglehold on the top seed for the district tournament with a victory.

Island Coast 9, Ida Baker 6: Island Coast (7-9, 3-5 District 6A-11) earned a rivalry win against Ida Baker (0-17, 0-9). Kamryn Huston drove in five Gators runs, going 2-for-4 with a double and scoring a run as well. Natalie Sibert tripled, scored and had an RBI, while Kaylee Bruce went 2-for-3, scored three times and had an RBI. Rylee Hare was 3-for-4 with three runs scored. Hare was also the winning pitcher.

Cypress Lake 14, Cape Coral 4: Cypress Lake (3-12, 1-8) earned its first District 6A-11 win at the expense of Cape Coral (8-7, 3-6).

Baseball

Cape Coral 1, Cypress Lake 0: Cape Coral took possession of second place in District 6A-11 behind solid pitching. Matt McDade drove in Andrew Jaffarian in the first inning for the game's only run. Those two also teamed up on the mound. Jaffarian worked the first six innings for the win, with McDade pitching the seventh for a save. The Seahawks (12-3, 7-2) dropped Cypress Lake to 10-6, 5-2.

Mariner 4, North Fort Myers 3: The Tritons' Donnie Goodman knocked in the winning run in the seventh inning Tuesday for a District 6A-11 victory. Mariner (5-8, 2-6) also got RBI from Alex Freeland, Louis Alberro and Barron Northrup. Freeland (2-for-4) doubled, tripled, and also scored a run. Jimmy Meredith was 2-for-4 and scored twice. Meredith went the distance on the mound for the win, allowing three runs on six hits and no walks while striking out six. North slipped to 7-7, 5-5. Peyton Bourque had a three-run double for Mariner. Nick Roch and RJ Tejada each had two hits for the Red Knights. Borque took the loss, with two of the four runs against him being unearned.

Bishop Verot 8, Baltimore Calvert Hall 6: At the Catholic Challenge in Orlando, Matthew Bevins scored twice and drove in two runs, while Matt Cedarburg added 2 hits. Andrew Vieceli earned the win, and Sam Archambault picked up the save. The Vikings improved ot 5-9 on the season.

Ida Baker 8, Island Coast 7: The Bulldogs (9-7, 3-4) handed Island Coast (11-3, 6-1) its first District 6A-11 defeat of the season. For the Gators, Chase Chatman was 4-for-4 and scored twice, while Kasey Ross had two RBI and Julio Castro was 2-for-3, scored twice and drove in a run.

Estero 4, Mariner 3: The Tritons (11-4) face Oasis on Thursday. Tuesday's results: Sebastian Mendez (Estero) d. Andrew Kibler 6-1, 6-2; Orley Borsa (E) d. Teddy Perchall 6-1, 6-1; Conner Huseman (E) d. Hayden Wiseley 6-1, 6-3; Bryce Wathen (E) d. Yeni Win 6-3, 7-6 (7-5); Brandon King (Mariner) d. David Mora 6-4, 6-4. Doubles: Kibler/Wiseley (M) d. Ian Calder/David Mendez 8-1; Perchall/Win (M) d. Eddie Buran/Eduardo Mora 8-2.
