Cape Coral 18, Gateway Charter 2: Rachel Manes was 3-for-3 with an RBI, Tara Striggow was 2-for-3 and a walk, Peyton Helton doubled and had an RBI and Abbigail Garcia drove in two Seahawks runs. Freshman pitcher Phaedra Jelenowski struck out four in three innings. Cape Coral (8-5) plays at Port Charlotte on Thursday.

Baseball

Oasis 7, East Lee County 4: The Sharks spotted East Lee a 4-0 lead in the top of the first inning, then rallied for the victory. Stephen Siciliano, Dennis Talarico and Peyton Palmer drove in two runs each for Oasis (9-3). Nick Oliviera had three hits and three stolen bases, and Siciliano added two steals. Talarico earned the pitching with five scoreless innings of relief work.

Fort Myers 7, Bishop Verot 3: The Vikings fell to 4-9 on the season with the loss to Fort Myers.

Girls lacrosse

Canterbury 12, Cape Coral 4: The Sea-hawks slipped to 1-9, 0-7 District 18 after Wednesday's defeat at the hands of the Cougars (8-4, 5-2).

Tuesday

Baseball

Cape Coral 5, Port Charlotte 2: Andrew Jaffarian pitched six innings for the win for Cape (10-3, 5-2 District 6A-11), allowing two runs. Allen Guerrero finished for a save. Brandon Dye, Ashton Hilliard, Matt McDade and Spencer Roach drove in runs for the Seahawks.

Mariner 2, Ida Baker 0: Jimmy Meredith went the distance on the mound to earn the shutout win for Mariner (4-8, 1-6 District 6A-12), holding Ida Baker to two hits and no walks with six strikeouts. Donnie Goodwin was 2-for-3 at the plate and scored a run for the Tritons. Ida Baker fell to 8-6, 2-3. Jose Rodriguez went five innings for the Bulldogs, allowing one run.

Island Coast 20, Dunbar 0 (4): Seven different Gators (11-1) drove in runs on Tuesday. Christian Odio was 3-for-4 at the plate with two runs scored, with Jordan Dence and Brock Balsley each going 2-for-3. Dence scored three runs and Balsley scored twice. Julio Castro was the winning pitcher.

Cypress Lake 8, North Fort Myers 0: Cypress Lake remained second in District 6A-11 (6-0; 11-3 overall) with the win. The Red Knights slipped to 6-7, 4-5.

Softball

Mariner 10, Ida Baker 0: Hannah Holloway was 3-for-4 at the plate, scoring four times, stealing three bases and driving in two runs for the Tritons (10-5, 6-1 District 6A-11). Meanwhile, on the mound, Holloway pitched a one-hitter, striking out 11 and allowing one walk. Kennedy Burham also went 3-for-4 at the plate, scored a run and had an RBI. Yasmine Halaby (2-for-3) drove in two runs, scored a run and stole two bases. Ida Baker fell to 0-15, 0-8.

Port Charlotte 5, Cape Coral 4: Cape fell to 7-5, 3-4 District 6A-11 with the loss to Port Charlotte (8-8, 6-3).

Island Coast 18, Dunbar 3: The Gators are 6-9 after Tuesday's non-district victory.

Fort Myers 12, Bishop Verot 2: Tayli Filla drove in both Vikings (9-7) runs with a two-run homer.

Boys Tennis

Mariner 6, Dunbar 1: Teddy Perchall (M) d. Duane Simon 6-0, 6-2; Brandon King (M) d. Xavier McDonald 6-3, 5-7, 10-8; Xavier DeJesus (M) d. Gian Ortiz 6-4, 6-0; Hunter Antone (M) d. Jean Beltran 6-0, 6-3; Jay Rusch (M) d. A'jarian Morales 6-0, 6-3. Doubles: Simon/McDonald (D) d. Esteban Orejula/Christian DeJesus 8-4; Hunter Antone/Nathan Laws (M) d. Ortiz/Beltran 8-5.

Girls lacrosse
