North Fort Myers 9, Barron Collier 3: The Red Knights (7-1) traveled down to Naples and picked up a win against Barron Collier (1-5) Wednesday. Sarah Giampalo was 3-for-3 with four RBI, a double and a run scored for North. Natavia Ellis and Haley Weaver each went 2-for-4 with an RBI. Emma Johnson struck out 11 in the win. North Fort Myers (4-0 district) has a District 6A-11 game against Ida Baker Friday.

Mariner 10, South Fort Myers 0 (6): The Tritons (7-4) led 2-0 going to the bottom of the fourth inning, scoring four times in the fourth and four more in the fifth to dispatch the Wolfpack (2-8). Hannah Holloway was the winning pitcher with nine strikeouts. Holloway, Georgia Waddell, Yasmine Halaby and Alayna Martin had two hits each for Mariner (3-0 in district), which plays at Cape Coral Friday in a District 6A-11 contest.


Oasis 7, Gateway Charter 6: The Sharks (5-2, 1-1 District 4A-5) spotted Gateway (5-4, 1-1) a 4-1 lead after one inning, but rallied with two runs in the fourth and four runs in the fifth to win. Senior Peyton Palmer was 3-for-4 with a home run, a double and three RBI. Trey Siciliano was 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs scored. Four of the six runs scored against Sharks' starting and winning pitcher Dennis Talarico were unearned. Lewis Evans pitched 1 2-3 innings for a save. The Sharks were home against Ida Baker Thursday.

Boys tennis

Mariner 6, Oasis 1: The Tritons won their second match in as many days, and were home against South Fort Myers on Thursday. Wednesday's singles: Andrew Kibler (M) d Sebastian Stockbridge 6-2, 3-6, 10-6; Teddy Perchall (M) d Sage Keesler 6-1, 6-2; Hayden Wiseley (M) d Dale Saccone 6-0, 6-0; Yeni Win (M) d Issac Milaski 6-0, 6-0; Brandon King (M) d Andrew Wells 6-0, 6-0. Doubles: Stockbridge/Keesler (O) d Xavier DeJesus/Christian DeJesus 8-1; Nathan Laws/Hunter Antone (M) d Saccone/Milaski 8-5.



North Fort Myers 5, Ida Baker 0: Sajarie Jones had four hits, four stolen bases and scored three times to lead the Red Knights (6-1, 4-0 District 6A-11). Sarah Giompalo had two hits and Natavia Ellis two RBI for North. Sydney Morris (2-0) and Emma Johnson combined on the shutout. Morris struck out seven and allowed two hits in five innings. Ida Baker fell to 0-3, 0-9.

Mariner 3, Cape Coral 0: Mariner junior pitcher Hannah Holloway had 12 strikeouts and went 3-for-3 at the plate in the victory. Alexis Baker and Alayna Martin doubled for Mariner (6-4, 3-0 District 6A-11). Freshman Avery Myrtik struck out 16 and went 2-for-3 at the plate in the loss for Cape Coral (3-4, 0-2). The Tritons play the Seahawks again Friday at Cape Coral High.

Port Charlotte 3, Island Coast 2: Port Charlotte (4-4, 4-2 District 6A-11) rallied from a 2-0 deficit with two runs in the sixth inning and one in the seventh against Island Coast (2-5, 1-2).


Island Coast 6, Port Charlotte 1: Chase Chatman struck out 10 in six innings for the win, allowing four hits and a walk. Chatman also had two hits. Josh Morales also had two hits for the Gators, and Christian Odio scored three runs as Island Coast remained un beaten (5-0, 3-0 District 6A-11). The Pirates dropped to 1-8, 0-5.

Cape Coral 5, Mariner 3 (8): An error in the top of the eighth inning helped the Seahawks (6-1, 2-1 District 6A-11) down the Tritons (1-4, 0-3). Jacob Robertson got the pitching in relief, with Chris Elias getting the last three outs for a save. Reliever Louis Alberro took the loss for Mariner, surrendering two runs without giving up a hit in three innings of work. He struck out four. Jaylen Young, Wade Williamson and Jimmy Meredith had two hits each for the Tritons. Brandon Dye, Matthew McDade, Jason Slaton and Danny Valdes drove in runs for the Seahawks.

Ida Baker 5, North Fort Myers 3: The Bulldogs won their District 6A-11 opener (3-3 overall) against the Red Knights (5-2, 3-2). Jose Rodriguez was the winning pitcher, giving up one earned run in 4 2/3 innings. Austin Crothers' 12-inning scoreless streak was snapped, but he earned the save by giving up one run in 2 1/3 innings. Alex Rios had a hit and two walks; Tucker Mixon two hits, a walk and an RBI; Trey Koza had a hit, a walk and an RBI; Mac Moise had an RBI, Nich Richir doubled and AJ Marinello tripled. Tony Rios walked three times for Ida Baker. For North, Bryce Adkins, Jacob Park and Tony Robbins drove in runs. Manny Rodriguez went 2-for-3. Justin Bethke took the loss on the mound.

Mariner 4, Riverdale 3: The Tritons swept the doubles matches to rally for a win against Riverdale: Mariner faced Oasis Wednesday. Singles: Andrew Kibler (M) d Rhiguens Fortune 6, 7-5, 10-5; Nash Williams (R) d Teddy Perchall 6-3, 7-5; Logan Dunham (R) d Hayden Wiseley 6-4, 6-2; Ben Dunham (R) d Yeni Win 6-2, 6-0; Brandon King (M) d Grant Rogers 7-6 (7-5), 6-0. Doubles: Kibler/Wiseley (M) d Fortune/Logan Dunham 9-7; Perchall/Win (M) d Williams/Ben Dunham 8-4.

Girls lacrosse

Bishop Verot 11, Port Charlotte 1: Verot improved to 2-2 in District 18, keeping Port Charlotte winless at 0-3.
