Broken Shell Gallery and Boutique grand opening Saturday

Broken Shell Gallery and Boutique will hold its grand opening celebration Saturday Jan. 20, from 5-8 p.m. The celebration will provide an opportunity to tour the gallery and meet some of the artists.The public is welcome and hors d'oeuvres will be served.

The gallery is located at 1019 Cape Coral Parkway, East. Currently there are over 40 local contributing artists ranging in age from 4 to 84 who display watercolors, oil, and acrylic paintings, copper and seashell sculptures, fine art photography, wood collages and so much more.

"I am always looking for new artists," owner Gina Lynne Turek said. She encourages artists of all mediums to consider joining. The gallery is also displaying a local author.

Some of the unique items you will find in the upscale boutique are palm frond creations, jewelry, handbags, handmade soaps, body scrubs and candles, ceramic and pottery, and numerous distinctive pieces. There is also a Christmas room with handmade ornaments and decorations that will be displayed all year.

While you are at Broken Shell Gallery and Boutique, don't forget to stop in the Estate Room. It contains items such as an extensive Beatles collection, a Star Trek collection that is out of this world, "Lord of the Rings" items, vintage porcelain and china dolls, signed Christian Steinbach nutcrackers, a wide array of North American Character bears, and many signed prints by James Christensen, Robert Kennedy, Bev Doolittle and others.

Broken Shell Gallery and Boutique offers a full schedule of classes taught by the owner and several of the artists. They include individual art instruction, make and take art, decorative wine glasses, beaded art classes, and creating you own unique Karma box. Stop in the gallery for a full listing.
