Christ Lutheran Church children's Winter Festival and Trash to Treasure

Sale set for Saturday

Christ Lutheran Church is hosting a children's Winter Festival and Trash to Treasure Sale Saturday, Jan. 6, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., in the Church of the Epiphany parking lot at 2507 Del Prado Blvd., S., in Cape Coral.

The children's festival will feature bounce houses, games and prizes, face painting, rock painting, a photo booth and food. There is no cost for children.

Many "trash to treasure" items will be offered for sale at the event. Money from the sale will be shared with the Cape Coral Caring Center; Christ Lutheran's Youth Group, which is traveling to Galveston, Texas, in June; and the church's children's Vacation Bible School set for June 18-21.

Christ Lutheran Church holds its worship services at the Church of the Epiphany on Del Prado, just south of Veterans Parkway. For more information, call 239-542-2709.

Christian Womens Connection of Cape Coral breakfast meeting Monday

The Christian Womens Connection of Cape Coral invites the public to breakfast Monday, Jan. 8, at the Palmetto Pines Country Club, 1940 S.W. 9th Court, Cape Coral.

Doors open at 8 a.m. with socializing to begin at 8:30 a.m. Breakfast and the meeting start at 9:30 a.m.

This is the organization's yearly fundraiser for Stonecroft. There will be household items, jewelry, and baked goods for sale along with baskets for the silent auction. Sign up at the Resource Table. This is such a fun time:

A special feature of the meeting will be "How to restore the art of the handwritten letter." Bring a blank note card and a stamped envelope.

The guest speaker for the program will be Becky Burgue. She will discuss, "The letter that changed my life."

Financial Peace University starts Jan. 28 at Cape Coral Community Church

Ramsey Solutions' Financial Peace University will be held in Cape Coral at Cape Coral Community Church, 811 Santa Barbara Blvd., beginning Sunday, Jan. 28, at 9 a.m.

Created by financial expert Dave Ramsey, the nine-week course provides families and individuals with practical tools to gain control of their finances and set themselves up for long-term financial success.

Along with Ramsey Personalities Rachel Cruze and Chris Hogan, Ramsey teaches lessons on budgeting, relationships and money, getting out of debt, saving for emergencies and investing.

Church of God Prophecy

to hold Fish Fry & Pulled Pork BBQ Jan. 12

The Church of God Prophecy on Pine Island will hold a Fish Fry & Pulled Pork BBQ Saturday, Jan. 12, from 1-5 p.m. The meal will include fried fish with hush puppies, or barbecue pork sandwich, grits or potato salad.

All dinners come with cole slaw, dessert, coffee or tea. The cost is $8.

The Church of God of Prophecy is at 15146 Stringfellow Road in Bokeelia.
