Cape Coral Daily Breeze

Cultural Park will be holding its first-ever "Celebrate the Holidays" event Saturday, Dec. 9, from 5-8 p.m.

The three entities of Cultural Park - the Cape Coral Art League, Cultural Park Theatre and Cape Coral Historical Museum - have joined forces to present this new holiday experience.

Guests can take a stroll through lights and see different holiday exhibits at all three entities - including the giant card contest winners.

The event is an open house featuring music and good cheer. Guests to feel welcomed with carolers from local schools, churches and organizations, decorations of the holiday at the buildings, Santa arriving by a fire truck and even a chance to purchase a handcrafted present.

The theme of the Holiday Card Contest, which was open to everyone in the community of all ages, is "Holidays through Theatre, History or Art." Three winning cards were chosen by three Cape Coral City Councilmember Marilyn Stout, City Manager John Szerlag and Recreation Superintendent Keith Locklin.

The winners are Tenley Patrick, preschool to middle school; Jessica Baker, high school; and Richard Goodnight, adult categories. The winning original cards are currently on display in the lobby at Cape Coral City Hall through Dec. 8.

The Cape Coral Historical Society/Museum, Cultural Park Theatre and Cape Coral Art League are all 501(c) 3 not for profit agencies.
