Florida Everblades President & General Manager Craig Brush along with head coach Brad Ralph announced this week that several players have been added to the team.

On Monday, forward Mitchell Heard and defenseman Matt Finn were assigned to the team by the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League (AHL). In addition, forward Justin Kea was released from his tryout contract with Charlotte and will return to the Everblades.

Heard, 25, returns to the Everblades where he registered 13 points (6g, 7a) in 11 games last season along with eight postseason appearances.

Finn, 23, posted 32 points (11g, 21a) in 53 games played with the Missouri Mavericks (ECHL) last season.

Both Heard and Finn enter the season under an AHL contract with Charlotte.

Kea, 23, agreed to terms with the Everblades earlier in the summer. He joins the team after spending the past three seasons split between the Elmira Jackals and the AHL's Rochester Americans.

On Sunday, the 'Blades announced they had acquired forward Kyle Neuber from the Allen Americans in exchange for future considerations.

Neuber, 28, joins the Everblades after logging two points with 18 penalty minutes in eight appearances with Allen from 2016-17. From 2013-2016, Neuber played three seasons at the University of Guelph totaling 46 points (20g, 26a) along with 233 penalty minutes.

The team has also agreed to terms with defenseman Gus Young for the 2017-18 season.

Young, 26, joins the 'Blades after logging four points in 29 AHL appearances split with the San Antonio Rampage and Chicago Wolves last season.

Thursday the Everblades announced that defenseman Josiah Didier and goaltender Martin Ouellette have been assigned to the team by the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League (AHL).

Didier, 24, recorded eight points (2g, 6a) in 39 games played with the AHL's St. John's IceCaps last season. In addition, Didier also logged an assist in his lone appearance with the Brampton Beast (ECHL).

Ouellette, 25, has played the past three seasons split between the Reading Royals (ECHL) and the Lehigh Valley Phantoms (AHL). The 6-2, 194-pound netminder has amassed a 49-33-5-2 record, with five shutouts, a 2.60 goals-against-average and a .912 save percentage in 92 career ECHL appearances with the Royals.

Both Didier and Ouellette enter the season under an AHL contract with Charlotte.

In a separate roster move, the Checkers announced Thursday that forward Brett Bulmer was released from his tryout. Bulmer is under an ECHL contract with the Everblades for the 2017-18 season.
