Gulfside Church in Cape Coral will host its launching Sunday, Sept. 24, at 10:30 a.m. The church meets at Island Coast High School, 2125 Navarra Road.

The event was originally planned for Sept. 17 but was rescheduled due to Hurricane Irma.

This week, lead pastor Paul Irminger said, "We believe right now it is more important to mobilize our church body to serve the community during this next week as everyone cleans up and recovers from the storm."

According to the church's website, gulfside church.com, Irminger and his wife Tia have been in full-time ministry since he graduated from Toccoa Falls College in 2004. During their time serving at Union Chapel in Muncie, Indiana, from 2012-2016, they felt the call into church planting. In 2016, the two moved to Southwest Florida with their four children.

The website states: "We love having fun during our services so don't be surprised if we do something a little out of the norm. Engaging illustrations, poetry, painting, video illustrations, special music, drama, and any other creative idea could happen on a Sunday during our service. We expect something fun and different to happen every week at Gulfside Church. Each Sunday is a time of passionate and creative worship that is different from the last one. There will be contemporary music, relevant and practical Bible teaching, and a God-honoring time for adults and their children every week."

Dress for services is casual.

The church's creative director is Emily Norviel, a native of Dayton, Ohio, and a graduate of Ball State University in 2012. She spent four years serving as a full-time creative arts director for Union Chapel, she spent 2016 at Hillsong Church in New York City,

The children's ministry director is Samantha Langdon. Until this past June, she was a life-long resident of Muncie, Indiana, before moving to Cape Coral. A Ball State University graduate, she spent two years interning with Union Chapel in the children's ministry.
