Don’t vote by mail

August 11, 2017
Cape Coral Daily Breeze

To the editor;

Tommy Doyle, supervisor of Elections for Lee County, is urging voters to mail in ballots for the upcoming election, claiming it is "easier." For whom?

I started working for Lee Elections in 2013 because I was dismayed by Florida's reputation in having fair elections. However, I wasn't allowed to vote at the place where I worked for polling duty since it wasn't my home district. I voted twice by mail and twice my ballot was rejected since Lee Elections arbitrarily didn't like my signature.

I have since learned that Lee Elections allows people the opportunity to sign a ballot if it has been sent in without a signature. It however, didn't allow me to re-sign my ballot and make my vote count. I have since voted in early voting stations.

Do I trust Lee Elections to do the right thing? Unfortunately NOT!
