Lehigh Concert Band announces season performances

The Lehigh Concert Band has announced the concert dates for the 2017-18 season. The band will perform Nov. 19, Dec. 17, Jan. 28, Feb. 18, March 18 and April 15. All concerts will start at 3 p.m. and the first performance will take place at 1st Baptist church 200 Lee Blvd. Up to date information on performances and the band is available on the webpage

The November concert will be a salute to the veterans with Armed Forces Salute, Hymn of Freedom, Dam Busters march, The Blue and the Grey, America from West Side Story and more. Our always popular Christmas concert focuses on family and kids and will feature How the Grinch Stole Christmas, March of the Toys, 'Twas the Night Before Christmas, Canadian Brass Christmas suite and an audience sing along. January will be a salute to Broadway with music from Chicago, Hello Dolly, My Fair Lady, Anything Goes, Irving Berlin as well as some Disney music. February will be a mixed bag of tricks with music from movies, Big Band, solos and more. The March and April concerts will feature the best community band music available in Southwest Florida with incredible arrangements of Grease, Wizard of OZ, James Bond, Beach Boys, John Williams, Classics, Swing, Herb Alpert and more.

Rehearsals will start in mid October on Tuesday evenings at 7 p.m. and there are still openings in some sections of the band.
