Why John Karcher is the better choice

To the editor:

I've known City Council Candidate John Karcher for 20 years. John realizes that Cape Coral has so much untapped potential and is frustrated by the lack of leadership and transparency in City Council. John feels the time is right for change and that's why he's running.

John had a 34-year career in corporate management, ensuring that major retailers had the right products to be successful in their unique market locations. Being a successful Council member takes a lot of the same skills. Understanding the marketplace and adjusting solutions to meet its demands is the same as grasping neighborhood issues and working with residents to get things done. John Karcher is a man of action who will not avoid the tough issues because without solutions, those issues become tougher. He learned this in the private sector where inaction is fatal.

John currently supports his community as vice-president of the Northwest Neighborhood Association, working with the city on issues ranging from parks, shoreline enhancement, development and transportation. He sits, on the Lee County M.P.O. Citizens Advisory Committee and has a seat on the Cape Coral Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan Committee.

Now is the time to start Cape Coral on a path to a brighter future. "March with Karch" and cast your vote for John Karcher, District 6 on Nov. 7.
