Ciniellos honored for support of The Bowlers to Veterans Link

The owners of Fort Myers-based Bowland and HeadPinz bowling centers, Patrick and Lisa Ciniello, were recognized recently at the sport's national convention for their outstanding support of bowling's charity for military veterans - The Bowlers to Veterans Link. The six-location chain donated more than $25,000 this year alone to BVL - a record for the chain.

The Ciniellos are credited with raising more than $62,000 total for the charity, which provides recreational and therapeutic programs and services for veterans recuperating in VA Medical Centers nationwide.

A month-long fundraising effort by Bowland and HeadPinz Entertainment Centers in Southwest Florida resulted in that record-setting company donation. Patrick Ciniello, himself a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and a dedicated supporter of BVL, spearheaded the campaign.

BVL is a national 501 (c) (3) charity which is consistently acknowledged for efficient and effective programming delivered with extremely low overhead. BVL has been recognized as one of "America's Best Charities," earned a "Top Rated" Nonprofit distinction, and accepted into the Combined Federal Campaign (#93325). 1,300 parking spaces added at Lee Health's Gulf Coast Medical Center

Finding a parking space is much easier at Gulf Coast Medical Center with the official opening of a new parking garage. The six-level facility, located on the southwest corner of the hospital campus, adds 1,300 new parking spaces.

Safety and security of visitors, employees and volunteers are top priorities at all Lee Health locations, and the new parking garage incorporates many advances in safety design and technology. One hundred twenty-four digital cameras are incorporated into the facility providing comprehensive surveillance of all levels, stairwells and elevator lobbies, and provide time-stamped, automated entry to the facility by scanning license plates (requires prior registration). Each camera is capable of delivering high resolution live and recorded video regardless of lighting and weather conditions. These cameras utilize some of the most advanced video analytics available to alert security personnel to activity as it occurs.

In addition to the numerous cameras, each of the six floors has two strategically located and highly visible call-for-assistance boxes. These are the same call-for-assistance boxes utilized by some of the largest hospitals, malls and amusement parks in the nation. A simple press of a button will create an alarm in security control that will open a two-way audio link. With the aid of the superior video coverage, campus security officers can visually verify activity in real time and respond appropriately. Regular physical patrols of the garage are planned by security, as well.
