Cape student among Dunkin’ Donuts 2017 South / Southwest Florida Scholarship Program winners

Dunkin' Donuts has announced the recipients of its 2017 South/Southwest Florida Scholar-ship Program, awarding a total of $15,000 in college scholarships to high school students in South/Southwest Florida enrolling in college, university or vocational-technical school for the 2017-2018 academic year.

This year, Dunkin' Donuts awarded five Southwest Florida students with $1,000 college scholarships.

Southwest Florida scholarship recipients include Sonal Dodia of Naples, who will attend University of Florida; Jack Fining of Punta Gorda, who will attend University of Florida; John Klucik of Ava Maria, who will attend Hillsdale College in Michigan; Branden Pearson of Cape Coral, who will attend University of Florida; and Sophia Torres of Marco Island, who will attend Williams College in Massa-chusetts.

Dunkin' Donuts awarded scholarships to 15 eligible students across Palm Beach Treasure Coast, Greater Miami-Fort Lauderdale and Greater Fort Myers-Naples areas. Students were selected based on their positive academic record and contributions to both their schools and communities.

The Dunkin' Donuts scholarship program is managed by Scholarship America -- the nation's largest manager of scholarship and tuition reimbursement programs for corporations, foundations, associations and individuals.

Applications and guidelines for the 2018 Dunkin' Donuts South / Southwest Florida Scholarship Program will be available in January 2018 at www.scholarsapply.org/ddonuts-fl.
