Public invited to Civic’s candidate forum

July 14, 2017
Cape Coral Daily Breeze

To the editor:

Now that our local elections are under way, the field of candidates is one of the largest in the history of our city

There are 18 candidates that are qualified to seek a seat on our city council. Seven are running for mayor, four for District 1, three are running for District 4 and two for both Districts 5 and 6. Elections are held this Sept. 12 for the primary and Nov. 7 for the general elections. The winners of the general elections from all districts and mayor will be our new Council members and mayor.

All voters of the Cape will be voting for all members of council and mayor, not just the candidates running in their district . So it is important to us, as individuals, to step up and get informed about each candidate so each of us can make the best choice for those leaders that will move the city forward over the next four years.

The Cape Coral Civic Association is proud, once again to hold the first forum with all the qualified candidates participating. Our forum will be held July 18 at The Kiwanis hall located at 360 Santa Barbara Blvd. Cape Coral Fl. 33991. The doors will open at 6 pm and event will start at 6:30 pm. These candidates will be the first ones to be voted in being paid as a full time council person. The current council was already elected when we the voters voted to give them a raise.

Please visit our new website at www.CapeCivic.com where we have posted a photo of each candidate running that you can click on to go directly to their official campaign website. As with most new websites, as time goes by more content will be added, so please go to our website regularly to stay informed on all events we are taking part in.

You can also read about civics long history and see images of our organization over the years.

Get informed, get educated, and go vote.

Paul Prince

President

Cape Coral Civic Association
