Everblades lock up two players

The Florida Everblades added two more players to its roster for next season by agreeing to contract terms with forward Joe Cox and defenseman Nelson Armstrong on Thursday.

The team now has agreements with three players so far.

Cox, 23, appeared in five games with the Everblades after concluding his senior season at Michigan State University in 2016-17. The 5-foot-11, 173-pounder recorded 14 points (7 goals) in 35 games with the Spartans. Cox captained the Spartans for two seasons, totaling 69 points (27 goals) during his four-year collegiate career.

Armstrong, 23, returns to the Blades where he logged four assists in 12 games this past spring. The 6-0, 200-pound blueliner registered 29 points (5 goals) during his two seasons at the University of Prince Edward Island (2014-16).

The Peterborough, Ontario native played two seasons in the Ontario Hockey League and two seasons at St. Lawrence University (2011-13).
