Every resident affected by improper disposal of environmental toxins

July 6, 2017
Cape Coral Daily Breeze

To the editor:

Proper disposal of environmental toxins is a very serious issue. Serious health effects can result if they get into our environment.

The health effects of toxins such as arsenic often manifested as common illness or diseases. Some of these are diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, cerebral vascular disease, respiratory disease, organ failure, and cancer. This makes using disease cluster as a monitor very unreliable. Health monitoring in our state is often unavailable.

We must avoid placing toxins in our environment whenever possible. When they are in our environment we should monitor and eliminate whenever possible.

Records should be kept and checked of all disposals in the state.

We seem to critically undervalue things that keep us healthy such as the EPA, prevention and research.

This should be of interest to every citizen.
