Local resident named NOSC Atlanta FTS Blue Jacket of Year

A Fort Myers native was named the reserve center's full-time support Blue Jacket of the Year for 2016 for Navy Operational Support Center Atlanta.

Petty Officer Third Class Aveyon J. Williams was recognized for being a consistently superior performer among sailors in the E-1 through E-4 pay grades.

Since joining the Navy in 2014, she has been stationed for two years at NOSC Atlanta as a personnel specialist.

As a personnel specialist, Williams, is a manpower and reserve services clerk handling pay and entitlements for more than 1,200 Sailors for her command.

In addition to her primary duties, Williams participates in morale, welfare and recreation and command training and command assessment programs, and belongs to the Junior Enlisted Association. She also has volunteered at local schools and for Navy funeral honors.
